Premier League Fantasy Football Picks – Round 30
3971
Manchester City vs. Arsenal was postponed in midweek, so the opportunity to pick up some juicy double gameweek points didn’t materialise. Let’s see if we can make amends this week by taking a look at some of the Premier League’s in-form players.
Here are the top FPL picks for Matchday 30.
Goalkeeper
Martin Dubravka – Newcastle United
Newcastle’s Slovakian shot-stopper took his clean sheet tally to nine for the season with another shutout against Southampton last weekend. Dubravka has been one of the Magpies standout performers this term and only two teams in the bottom half of the Premier League table have a better defensive record than Newcastle in 2019/20.
Defenders
Gary Cahill – Crystal Palace
Gary Cahill is enjoying an extended run in Roy Hodgson’s side and the veteran centre-back isn’t showing any signs of calling it a day anytime soon. Crystal Palace have kept three clean sheets on the bounce, so Cahill will be confident of putting in another top performance against relegation strugglers Bournemouth on Saturday.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Manchester United
Manchester United will be brimming with confidence after seeing off bitter rivals Manchester City last time out. Aaron Wan-Bissaka played a starring role in the derby-day success and the young right-back continues to improve on an almost weekly basis. It’s also worth pointing out that Man Utd have kept eight clean sheets in their previous ten games in all competitions.
Midfielders
Ross Barkley – Chelsea
After being in and out of the team for much of the season, it appears that Ross Barkley is back in favour with Chelsea boss Frank Lampard. Barkley has notched up three assists in his past three league appearances, while a stunning long-range goal against Liverpool in the FA Cup showed everyone what he’s capable of.
Todd Cantwell – Norwich City
With six goals and two assists to his name, Todd Cantwell is the second-highest scoring FPL player for Norwich this season. The young midfielder has been a shining light in a disappointing season for the Canaries, but Cantwell has the opportunity to add to his tally against an out of form Southampton side this weekend.
Forwards
Jamie Vardy – Leicester City
Jamie Vardy scored his first Premier League goals since December when he came off the bench to bag a brace against Aston Villa last time out. The Foxes striker has been struggling with injury of late, but he remains the top scorer in the division – two goals clear of his nearest challenger. An upcoming game against Watford provides Vardy with the perfect chance to find the back of the net once again.
Billy Sharp – Sheffield United
Sheff Utd manager Chris Wilder has rotated his strikers a lot this season, but Billy Sharp has featured in each of the Blades’ previous nine league games. Sharp has netted three goals in his last three appearances in all competitions, so you’d be foolish to bet against him scoring again this weekend. The 34-year-old is an excellent value pick.
