Following a month of thrilling World Cup action, Fantasy Premier League returns on Boxing Day. Accordingly, it’s time for FPL managers to prepare their teams for the second phase of the season.
We have unlimited transfers until the Gameweek 17 deadline, which is set for 11:00 (GMT) on Sunday, December 26. Brentford and Tottenham get the GW17 action underway, before Leeds and Man City wrap things up on Wednesday.

Goalkeepers
Man Utd and Chelsea have the best clean sheet odds for Gameweek 17. David De Gea (Man Utd) should start between the sticks for the Red Devils, but Edouard Mendy (Chelsea) and Kepa (Chelsea) are both fighting to be Graham Potter’s number one.
Aaron Ramsdale (Arsenal) and Ederson (Man City) are also favored to achieve a shutout on Boxing Day. As we return from the World Cup break, Nick Pope (Newcastle) is the highest-scoring goalkeeper in the game.
Defenders
Kieran Trippier (Newcastle) has claimed a whopping 96 points this season. William Saliba (Arsenal), Gabriel (Arsenal) and Joao Cancelo (Man City) are his nearest challengers, having picked up 74, 72, and 70, respectively.

The Gunners trio of Martin Odegaard (Arsenal), Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal) and Bukayo Saka (Arsenal) are all worth considering, as are picks like James Madisson (Leicester) and Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace).
Forwards
Needless to say, Erling Haaland (Man City) is a must-have pick for GW17 and beyond. Harry Kane (Tottenham) is the only other forward with 100+ points this season.
With Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal) out injured, Mikel Arteta could call upon Eddie Nketiah (Arsenal). Darwin Nunez (Liverpool), Aleksandar Mitrovic (Fulham) and Callum Wilson (Newcastle) are also worth selecting.
