Fantasy Premier League – FPL Picks, Best Players and More for Gameweek 4
1742

Following another thrilling round of Premier League action, Gameweek 4 takes place this weekend. Seven teams remain unbeaten this season, while five sides have yet to pick up a win.

The FPL deadline is set for 11:00 (BST) on Saturday, August 27 – 1.5 hours before Southampton host Manchester United in the early kick-off. Here is the Gameweek 4 fixture list in full.

  • Southampton vs. Man Utd
  • Chelsea vs. Leicester
  • Brighton vs. Leeds
  • Man City vs. Crystal Palace
  • Liverpool vs. Bournemouth
  • Brentford vs. Everton
  • Arsenal vs. Fulham
  • Wolves vs. Newcastle
  • Aston Villa vs. West Ham
  • Nottm Forest vs. Tottenham

A number of high-profile clubs have a favourable home fixture this weekend, with Chelsea hosting Leicester, Manchester City facing Crystal Palace, Liverpool hosting Bournemouth and Arsenal facing Fulham.

Naturally, it makes sense to target players from those sides when it comes to selecting your FPL team for Gameweek 4. But there have already been plenty of shock results and giant killings this term.

Here are the best FPL players for Gameweek 4.

Goalkeepers

Robert Sanchez (Brighton), Aaron Ramsdale (Arsenal), Nick Pope (Newcastle) and Ederson (Man City) are the only goalkeepers to have kept two clean sheets in the opening three games. Ramsdale and Ederson are the top picks for this weekend.

If you’re looking for a cheaper option between the sticks, Dean Henderson (Nottm Forest) is currently the highest-scoring goalkeeper in the game. David Raya (Brentford) is also worth considering, with Everton visiting Brentford.

Defenders

William Saliba (Arsenal) and Ivan Perisic (Tottenham) both scored big in the previous round, picking up 14 and 12 points, respectively. Loading up on Arsenal and Tottenham defenders could prove to be a smart move.

Joao Cancelo (Man City) and Kieran Trippier (Newcastle) are among the best full-backs to consider. Given Liverpool and Chelsea’s iffy starts to the campaign, it makes sense to steer clear of defensive options from those sides for the time being.

Midfielders

Rodrigo (Leeds) cemented his status as the highest-scoring FPL player this season with a goal and an assist in Leeds’ 3-0 thrashing of Chelsea last time out. The Spaniard has already notched four goals and one assist this term.

Kevin De Bruyne (Man City), Pascal Gross (Brighton), Jack Harrison (Leeds), Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Martin Odegaard (Arsenal) and Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace) have also surpassed the 20-point mark.

Forwards

With two goals and three assists to his name, Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal) is the most attractive forward option in FPL right now. Erling Haaland (Man City) and Harry Kane (Tottenham) are also among the top picks.

If you’re strapped for cash and in need of a cheaper forward, Ivan Toney (Brentford), Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa), Aleksandar Mitrovic (Fulham) and Danny Welbeck (Brighton) are all worth considering this weekend.
