Fantasy Premier League – Top Picks for FPL Gameweek 37
2628

The penultimate Gameweek of the 2021-22 Fantasy Premier League season gets underway this weekend. With five teams playing twice – and one team blanking – there is plenty to think about.

Aston Villa, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Everton and Leicester all double up in Gameweek 37, while Manchester United sit out. Before we look at the best FPL players for GW37, let’s check out the fixtures.

  • Tottenham vs. Burnley
  • Wolves vs. Norwich
  • West Ham vs. Man City
  • Watford vs. Leicester
  • Leeds vs. Brighton
  • Aston Villa vs. Crystal Palace
  • Everton vs. Brentford
  • Newcastle vs. Arsenal
  • Southampton vs. Liverpool
  • Aston Villa vs. Burnley
  • Chelsea vs. Leicester
  • Everton vs. Crystal Palace

The GW37 action begins on Sunday, May 15, with Tottenham hosting relegation-threatened Burnley in the early kick-off. That means the deadline is 10:30 (BST) on Sunday morning.

Naturally, the majority of this week’s top FPL players belong to the five teams playing twice in Gameweek 37. But don’t forget about the premium Single Gameweek assets!

Goalkeepers

Jordan Pickford (Everton) and Emi Martinez (Aston Villa) are arguably the best goalkeepers for FPL GW37. Everton have favorable home games against Brentford and Crystal Palace, while Villa host Palace and Burnley.

Nick Pope (Burnley), Kasper Schmeichel (Leicester) and Vicente Guaita (Crystal Palace) are the other Double Gameweek options. Elsewhere, Alisson (Liverpool) and Ederson (Man City) are the best Single Gameweek options.

Defenders

It is difficult to look past Matty Cash (Aston Villa) and Lucas Digne (Aston Villa) when it comes to picking the best FPL defenders for Gameweek 37. Vitaliy Mykolenko (Everton) and Seamus Coleman (Everton) are also worth considering.

Pinning down certain starters from the other DGW teams is tricky. For that reason, playing it safe with consistent performers such as Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) and Joao Cancelo (Man City) is a smart move.

Midfielders

There are plenty of exciting Double Gameweek midfielder to choose from, namely Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace), James Maddison (Leicester), Conor Gallagher (Crystal Palace) and Demarai Gray (Everton).

If you’re looking for the best Single Gameweek options, look no further than Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Kevin De Bruyne (Man City), and Son Heung-min (Tottenham). At the time of writing, Son has bagged nine goals and two assists in his past seven games.

Forwards

Given that Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) is an injury doubt, Danny Ings (Aston Villa) is arguably the best DWG forward for Gameweek 37. Richarlison (Everton) and Dominic Calvert-Lewins (Everton) are also worth considering.

Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester) and Wout Weghorst (Burnley) could also prove to be shrewd acquisitions. In terms of Single Gameweek forwards, Harry Kane (Tottenham) and Ivan Toney (Brentford) are the top picks.
