Fantasy Premier League – Top Picks for FPL Gameweek 21
3231

Gameweek 21 kicks off on New Year’s Day, with Arsenal and Manchester City getting the 2022 Premier League action underway.

As it stands, Leicester City - Norwich City has been postponed. But make sure you keep on top of all the latest developments, as the Premier League can call off more games just hours before kick-off.

Here is the Gameweek 21 fixture list in full.

  • Arsenal vs. Man City
  • Watford vs. Tottenham
  • Crystal Palace vs. West Ham
  • Brentford vs. Aston Villa
  • Southampton vs. Newcastle
  • Leeds vs. Burnley
  • Everton vs. Brighton
  • Chelsea vs. Liverpool
  • Man Utd vs. Wolves

Alongside Arsenal’s visit of Man City, Liverpool’s trip to Chelsea is the standout tie of the round. Both the Reds and the Blues are aiming to chase down Pep Guardiola’s side.

Anyway, without further ado, here are the best FPL picks for Gameweek 21.

Goalkeepers

Kasper Schmeichel (Leicester) secured a whopping 15 points in the previous round, saving a penalty and keeping a clean sheet against Liverpool. However, the next fixture for the Foxes against low-scoring Norwich has been postponed.

Fraser Forster (Southampton) and Vicente Guaita (Crystal Palace) both scored 6+ points last time out. Robert Sanchez (Brighton) is also worth considering, as the Seagulls face off-form Everton on Sunday.

Defenders

The top-performing defenders in Gameweek 20 were largely Crystal Palace and Leicester players. Of course, Joao Cancelo (Man City) and Ruben Dias (Man City) are pretty much must-have picks for the long term.

There are a number of differential defenders to consider for Gameweek 21. Romain Saiss (Wolves), Davinson Sanchez (Tottenham) and Ezri Konsa (Aston Villa) are all in-form and are owned by less than 2.5% of FPL managers.

Midfielders

Jarrod Bowen (West Ham) contributed three assists in the previous round. Teammates Tomas Soucek (West Ham), Mark Noble (West Ham) and Said Benrahma (West Ham) all got on the scoresheet, too.

Kevin De Bruyne (Man City) appears to be back to his best, as does Son Heung-min (Tottenham). It is also difficult to ignore the likes of Mason Mount (Chelsea), Martin Odegaard (Arsenal) and James Ward-Prowse (Southampton) at the moment.

Forwards

Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea) has bagged two goals in his last two games. Elsewhere, Emanuel Dennis (Watford), Harry Kane (Tottenham) and Joshua King (Watford) have all impressive in recent games.

Odsonne Edouard (Crystal Palace) grabbed a goal and two assists in Gameweek 20. The Frenchman scooped 14 points in the previous round and has favourable run of fixtures on the horizon.
