Chelsea sit three points clear of second-place Manchester City as we head into Gameweek 13 of the 2021-22 English Premier League season.

Unsurprisingly, Thomas Tuchel’s men are starring in FPL, too. Players like Reece James, Ben Chilwell and Antonio Rudiger are all proving to be hugely popular picks this season.

Before we get stuck into the top FPL picks for Gameweek 13, let’s take a quick look at the weekend’s fixture list.

• Arsenal vs. Newcastle

• Liverpool vs. Southampton

• Norwich vs. Wolves

• Crystal Palace vs. Aston Villa

• Brighton vs. Leeds

• Brentford vs. Everton

• Man City vs. West Ham

• Leicester vs. Watford

• Burnley vs. Tottenham

• Chelsea vs. Man Utd

Man City and West Ham United meet for a top-four clash, with Pep Guardiola’s side sitting just three points ahead of the Hammers.

However, the tie of the round is undoubtedly Chelsea vs. Manchester United. Can the Blues’ defenders add to their already impressive points hauls on Sunday?

Here are the top picks for FPL Gameweek 13.

Goalkeepers

Not only have Tuchel’s team conceded just four goals in 12 Premier League games this season, but Edouard Mendy (Chelsea) has kept a league-high seven clean sheets along the way.

Further down the clean sheet leaderboard, Alex McCarthy (Southampton) and Aaron Ramsdale (Arsenal) have both achieved five shutouts this term. They are both solid picks for Gameweek 13.

Along with McCarthy and Ramsdale, Ben Foster (Watford) is among the top three most in-form goalkeepers right now – according to the FPL stats.

Defenders

With Ben Chilwell (Chelsea) an injury doubt for Gameweek 13, Reece James (Chelsea) is a must-have defender. The wing-back scored again in the Champions League in midweek, meaning he now has five goals and five assists in all competitions.

You don’t need us to tell you that Joao Cancelo (Man City) and Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) are also no-brainer selections.

If you’re looking for a differential defender, keep an eye on Joachin Andersen (Crystal Palace), Gabriel (Arsenal), Matty Cash (Aston Villa) and Jan Bednarek (Southampton).

Midfielders

According to the FPL stats, Conor Gallagher (Crystal Palace) is the most in-form midfielder in the game. The Chelsea loanee has bagged two goals and two assists in his past three outings.

Of course, Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) is the most-owned player in FPL at the moment. But don’t forget about Sadio Mane (Liverpool). He picked up a round-high 12 points for a midfielder last weekend.

With Spurs seemingly imporving under Antonio Conte, Son Heung-min (Tottenham), Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (Tottenham) and Lucas Moura (Tottenham) are all worth considering – especially with Burnley up next for Spurs.

Forwards

Likewise, Harry Kane (Tottenham) should thrive under Conte. The England captain hasn’t got going in the Premier League this season, but he is bound to come to life sooner rather than later.

Emmanuel Dennis (Watford) is proving to be an amazing budget asset this term. Costing just £5.3m, the Nigerian has notched four goals and four assists – including two goals and four assists in his previous three matches.

Teemu Pukki (Norwich), Adam Armstrong (Southampton) and Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) are all worthwhile differentials to examine.
