The standout tie of the round is arguably Newcastle vs. Liverpool, although it may not be the best fixture to target from an FPL perspective. Let's dive into the best players for FPL GW3.
Goalkeepers
Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City and Man Utd have the highest clean sheets odds this weekend, making Robert Sanchez, Aaron Ramsdale, Ederson and Andre Onana good picks for GW3.
Fulham’s Bernd Leno and West Ham’s Alphonse Areola are the highest-scoring goalkeepers in FPL after the first two rounds, having picked up 14 points and 13 points, respectively.
Defenders
Brighton’s Pervis Estupinan has already collected a whopping 18 points in two appearances this term, registering a goal, an assist and four bonus points so far.
Considering the clean sheet odds for GW3, Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell, Arsenal’s William Saliba, Man City’s Kyle Walker and Man Utd’s Raphael Varane could prove to be excellent picks this weekend.
Midfielders
Two of the top three highest-scoring midfielders in the game are Brighton assets, with Solly March (24 points) and Kaoru Mitoma (17) sitting either side of Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo.
Other midfielders to consider include the Arsenal duo of Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard, the Man City pair of Phil Foden and Rodri, and Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez, who if taking up attacking positions.
Forwards
With two goals, one assist and five bonus points under his belt, Brentford’s Yoane Wissa leads the way when it comes to FPL forwards. Unsurprisingly, Erling Haaland is hot on his heels.
Given Man Utd’s recent struggles, Taiwo Awoniyi could be worth taking a punt on this weekend. The Nottingham Forest striker is in red-hot form, having scored eight goals in his last six league outings.
