Slovakia reached the last 16 in their maiden European Championship five years ago. However, Spain, Sweden and Poland look set to cause the Falcons problems in Group E.

Having only managed to win one of their three World Cup qualifiers this year, Slovakia head into Euro 2020 on a poor run. Can they rise to the occasion?

Goalkeepers: Martin Dubravka (Newcastle), Dusan Kuciak (Lechia Gdansk), Marek Rodak (Fulham).

• Who Will Slovakia Face in Group E?

Group E is tricky to call. Spain are expected to lead the way, yet Sweden, Poland and Slovakia will all be confident of clinching second place and reaching the last 16.

First up, Slovakia face Poland in Russia on June 14, before coming up against Sweden at the same venue on June 18. Tarkovic’s men then travel to Seville to face Spain on June 23.

Milan Skriniar: If Slovakia are to get anywhere at Euro 2020, expect Skriniar to be pivotal to his country’s push for knockout football.

The Inter Milan centre-back heads into the tournament on the back of a hugely successful domestic campaign, having clinched the Scudetto.

• How Far Can Slovakia Go?

Nobody would be overly surprised if Slovakia reached the Round of 16. But in reality, they are likely to bow out in the group stage.

Spain, Sweden and Poland will all be tough opponents, so Slovakia will struggle to replicate that last-16 achievements of 2016.
