Tottenham Hotspur will aim to enhance their European credentials when they face Leeds United at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.

Spurs find themselves five points outside the top four, although securing a Europa League spot is an achievable aspiration for the club.

On the other hand, Leeds are in eleventh place – nine points behind Tottenham but only one point inside the bottom half of the Premier League table.

Leeds’ six-game unbeaten streak was finally brought to an end by Brighton last weekend, as Marcelo Bielsa’s men lost 2-0 to the Seagulls.

Victories over Fulham, Sheffield United, and Manchester City, along with draws against Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United, saw Leeds take 12 points from a possible 18.

However, the Yorkshire outfit were unable to prevent their fifteenth defeat of the season last time out.

Only the top seven teams have scored more goals than Leeds this term, although Bielsa’s side have conceded 52 goals – more than 14 clubs.

Still, given that Leeds were only promoted last year, they can be extremely proud of their efforts this season.

Meanwhile, Tottenham extended their unbeaten streak in the Premier League to three games with an easy 4-0 victory over Sheffield United last weekend.

Gareth Bale netted an eye-catching hat-trick, before Son Heung-min completed the rout with a phenomenal long-range strike.

With caretaker manager Ryan Mason in charge, Spurs have claimed back-to-back league wins for the first time since early March.

In fact, when you consider that Tottenham have only lost two of their last ten league games (six wins, two draws), it could be argued that Jose Mourinho’s sacking was harsh.

Head-to-head: Let’s not forget that Tottenham beat Leeds 3-0 in the reverse fixture back in January.

The previous meeting between the sides came all the way back in 2013, with Leeds sealing a 2-1 win in the FA Cup on that occasion.

Team news: Injured Leeds trio Kalvin Phillips, Adam Forshaw and Raphina look set to miss Saturday’s clash.

Tottenham only have one injury concern at the moment, with left-back Ben Davies currently on the sidelines.

Regardless of the result, we are destined to see plenty of goals at Elland Road on Saturday, especially when you consider Leeds’ record this season.

With that in mind, Forebet predicts that Tottenham will clinch a high-scoring victory over Leeds, with over 4.5 match goals expected.
