Overall, it’s been a satisfactory campaign for Saturday’s hosts, Metz, as they currently occupy 9th place in Ligue 1 but they’ll be mindful that they’ve now failed to win any of their last six matches, losing four of these six.

This obviously doesn’t bode well when you’re about to play host to an in-form PSG outfit but this is the situation that Metz find themselves in as they look to break their recent drought, having managed to pick up just two wins out of their last 11 matches overall.

Both of these wins incidentally were achieved on the road at Nice and Bordeaux, both by 2-1 victories, but results at home have become something of a concern for Metz as they’ve lost their last four games on the trot, losing to Strasbourg, Angers, Rennes and Lille.

Earlier in the season, Metz had made a promising start on home soil, winning three of their opening four matches but they’ve since managed just two further wins from their subsequent 12 matches and they’ve lost their last 10 meetings on the trot against their visitors.

Midfielders Nguette, Pajot and Tchimbembe along with forward Niane are due to miss out through injury.

PSG recorded a crushing 5-0 victory over Angers in their midweek Coupe de France clash to hand the visitors two wins on the trot following a 3-2 home win over Saint-Etienne last time out in Ligue 1.

PSG have won eight of their last 11 matches overall in the French top flight but the visitors still find themselves a point behind the Ligue 1 leaders, Lille, so there’s plenty of incentive for PSG to inflict a fifth home defeat on the trot on their hosts here.

In turn, PSG will be eager to register a sixth away win on the trot in Saturday’s clash at the Stade Saint-Symphorien having collected wins on the road at Marseille 2-0, Dijon 4-0, Bordeaux 1-0, Lyon 4-2 and Strasbourg 4-1 with the visitors scoring 4 goals in three of these last five outings.

Forward, Mbappe, has now plundered a total of 23 goals to date this season and he’ll no doubt be keen to add to his goal tally at Metz.

Although, the visitors are expected to be without first-choice keeper, Navas, along with defenders Diallo and Marquinhos along with midfielder Verratti.

Three of the last five meetings between Metz and PSG have produced over 2.5 goals.
