A winless streak of six matches has resulted in Saturday’s hosts, Getafe, to drop down the Spanish top flight table to 15th place and just three points above the relegation zone prior to this important clash against Valencia at their Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.

Getafe have actually lost five of their last six matches with the other result being a 0-0 draw at home with Deportivo Alaves but defeats to Athletic Bilbao, Sevilla, Real Madrid, Real Sociedad and Real Betis means the hosts have picked up just one point from the possible 18 on offer.

The bigger picture paints an even bleaker outlook for Getafe as they’ve managed to pick up just three wins from their last 19 matches overall and this has also had a negative impact upon results at home.

With just one win from their last nine matches on home soil, the chances of a home win here does seem remote, but the goals market looks appealing as 10 of Getafe’s 12 home games have resulted in under 2.5 goals.

Valencia have managed to nick the odd win here and there in recent weeks in La Liga with vital victories against Real Valladolid, Elche and Celta Vigo which has helped Javi Gracia’s side lift themselves up into a more respectable looking 12th place.

Having lost just twice in their last eight matches overall in the Spanish top flight, Saturday’s visitors, Valencia, may well be fancying their chances of picking up at least a point at Getafe, if not all three, but results away from home still remain a major concern.

With just one win out of their last 10 matches on their travels, Valencia also will do well to pick up all three points in this upcoming encounter at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez with their one highlight on the road in recent times being a narrow 1-0 win away at Real Valladolid.

Gracia will have to make do without midfielder Cheryshev and defender Diakhaby though for this outing as both have been ruled out with injuries.

Five of Valencia’s 12 away matches have resulted in under 2.5 goals and their leading goalscorer is midfielder Soler with 6 goals but three of their last four visits to Getafe have been low-scoring affairs and this fixture may well be heading in the same direction.
