Guinea to Win and Keep a Clean Sheet

Guinea sit joint-top of Group A heading into their third Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Chad this Wednesday. The hosts have already beaten Namibia 2-0 and drawn 2-2 away at Mali, so should feel confident heading into their next match.

Last month Guinea played a friendly against Cape Verde and claimed a 2-1 win to extend their unbeaten run to four matches.

Three of Guinea’s last five matches have produced over 2.5 goals, but each of those games have been played away from home. The host’s last two home games have produced under 2.5 goals, and Guinea have kept clean sheets on both occasions.

Guinea have a real chance of cementing top spot in Group A as they prepare to play Chad home and away over the next 4-days.

The hosts have spread their 4 qualifying goals out amongst four different players so far. Conde, Kante, Keita, and Sylla have all found the back of the net once in Group A, which is good news for Guinea as they haven’t had to rely on one particular source of goals.

Chad weren’t expected to challenge for the qualification places in Group A, and so far, they have lived up to those expectations. Following their 2-1 defeat at Namibia and the 2-0 loss at home against Mali, Chad sit bottom of Group A.

N’Douassei has scored their only qualifying goal to date, coming against Namibia last month. Chad won’t be expecting to take much from Wednesday’s clash against an inform Guinea side they have only met once before. Chad lost 3-0 against Guinea back in 1992 and have also failed to score in three of their last five international matches.

Under 2.5 goals have been produced in four of Chad’s last six outings, which includes two of their last three away trips. The visitors have conceded exactly 2-goals in each of their last two matches, both of which were their opening two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Forebet can only see one result from this qualifier, a home win for Guinea. The hosts are the form favourites and have a strong defensive record at home of late. That, coupled with Chad’s poor attacking record, suggests that a win-to-nil could well be on the cards for Guinea.

Forebet doesn’t expect too many goals in this game, with under 2.5 most likely alongside a final scoreline of 1-0 in favour of Guinea.
