Although Granada currently occupy 9th place on the La Liga ladder and find themselves seven points adrift of the Europa League qualifiers spot, Saturday’s hosts nevertheless have every reason to be confident ahead of this upcoming clash against 5th placed Getafe.

Granada are unbeaten in their last four matches in La Liga which includes victories over Real Valladolid and Osasuna along with picking up points in draws with Celta Vigo and Levante, while losing just once in their last six matches overall, which was a narrow 1-0 loss away from home at Atletico Madrid.

Results at home though have been the highlight for Granada so far in this season’s Spanish top flight campaign as they’ve won three out of their last four matches and lost just once in their last seven.

Granada’s stubborn record at home has been built upon a solid defensive unit which has kept a total of seven clean sheets to date, most notably being a 2-0 home win over Barcelona earlier in the season, with 8 of Granada’s 13 home matches resulting in under 2.5 goals.

Saturday’s visitors, Getafe, resume their La Liga campaign in a creditable 5th place but they’d lost their top four spot due to posting some mixed results prior to the lockdown but they’ll no doubt be raring to go this weekend as they seek to reclaim a possible top four spot.

Defeats in quick succession to Barcelona and Sevilla were disappointing but at the same time, understandable, but Getafe did bounce back with a 1-0 win on the road at Mallorca and a point in 0-0 draw at home with Celta Vigo before the season was put on hold.

The visitors also bring some momentum into this upcoming encounter on the road at Granada too as they’ve won three of their last four matches on their travels with victories at Leganes, Athletic Bilbao and Mallorca, but goals have been a little thin on the ground on the road for Getafe.

9 of Getafe’s 13 away matches so far this season have resulted in under 2.5 goals being scored as the visitors have kept five clean sheets on their travels to date (which includes three of their last four away matches being shut-outs).

With this clash also being a return to action between two generally low-scoring teams, goals could be at a premium here.
