Low-scoring encounter expected between Derby and Millwall
2420

Derby County’s winless run in the Championship extended to 4 matches during the week when they drew 1-1 at home with Sheffield Wednesday, and they entertain former manager, Gary Rowett and his Millwall side this Saturday at Pride Park, no doubt looking to end this disappointing sequence with a win here.

Following recent defeats to Fulham and Blackburn Rovers (both away from home) along with 1-1 draws against QPR and Sheffield Wednesday, this may be easier said than done for Derby to end this slump, but results at Pride Park have at least been encouraging for The Rams.

Philip Cocu’s side have lost just once at home throughout this season out of their 11 matches played at Pride Park and this will give them hope of getting something out of this clash at Pride Park against Millwall.

Derby have won 5 drawn 5 and lost 1 at Pride Park but they’ll be up against a fast-improving Millwall outfit under Rowett, and Derby’s 5 stalemates does potentially put a spanner in the works with regards backing the hosts for the win here.

However, 5 clean sheets and 9 of their 11 home matches resulting in under 2.5 goals means that the unders market looks good here.

Onto Millwall, and The Lions maintained their mid-table position in the Championship with an impressive and perhaps slightly unexpected 2-1 win away from home at Bristol City in midweek which also extended their unbeaten run in the Championship to 6 matches under Gary Rowett.

Recent wins against Charlton Athletic, Swansea City and Bristol City have helped lift Millwall away from the lower regions of the Championship and the visitors now possess a very healthy 13-point cushion above the relegation zone.

Indeed, Millwall’s recent solid run of results mean that Rowett’s side are now just 4 points adrift of 6th placed Preston North End, and they should be respected in this upcoming clash against Derby County too.

Millwall’s results away from home have also picked up in recent times too as they’ve picked up wins at aforementioned Swansea City and Bristol City as well as a point at Rowett’s former club, Birmingham City.

But with just 2 away wins on the road so far, it may be best to look at the goals markets (or lack of them) for Millwall too as 7 of their 11 away matches have also resulted in under 2.5 goals scored.
