Millwall to create further problems for Stoke
2371

New Millwall manager, Gary Rowett, would have been pleased by his side’s 2-2 draw with Cardiff City at The Den during the week on Tuesday night which has placed Millwall in 17th place in the Championship prior to the visit of strugglers, Stoke City, to The Den this Saturday.

Rowett will be facing one of his former clubs when Stoke City make their way down to the nation’s capital, and he must be itching to get one over his former employers after being shown the door at The Potters back in January.

Having suffered just 1 defeat out of their last 5 matches overall in the Championship which was a 3-2 loss away from home at London rivals, Brentford, Millwall look to be in good shape to get something from this upcoming clash on Saturday.

The Lions have picked up useful points in recent draws with Huddersfield Town, Luton Town and Cardiff City, along with a surprise 2-1 home win against 2nd placed Leeds United in recent weeks, and have lost just once at The Den so far this season.

Onto Stoke City, and recent back-to-back wins for Stoke City has given manager, Nathan Jones, a stay of execution at the bet365 Stadium as his side pulled wins out of the bag against Swansea City (2-1 away) and Fulham (2-0 home) to hand the Potters a desperately needed lifeline.

However, a 1-0 defeat away from home at Sheffield Wednesday in midweek saw Stoke return to losing ways in the Championship and they face a tricky trip down to London to face a solid Millwall outfit in their own backyard on Saturday afternoon.

Stoke’s task is made an even harder given the fact that the visitors have gained just 1 away win all season to date, along with losing 4 of their 6 away matches following defeats at Charlton Athletic, Preston North End, Birmingham City and Sheffield Wednesday.

With just 2 away wins out of their last 21 away matches in the Championship, Stoke City have been broken for quite some time now, and another defeat at Millwall on Saturday afternoon may just be the breaking point for the Stoke City owners in terms of Nathan Jones’s tenure at The Potters.

Millwall have been hard to beat at The Den this season and they could just sneak a narrow win here to hand manager, Gary Rowett, a sweet victory over his former club.
