Dortmund looks like a major threat to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich this season. On Friday night, BVB visit newly-promoted Koln, as Lucian Favre’s team looks to make it two league wins out of two in the German top-flight.

The visitors kicked off their Bundesliga campaign with a 5-1 home hammering of Augsburg. The victory means that Favre’s team have won their last three league games in the German top-flight dating back to last season.

BVB are formidable going forward and have scored at least two goals in their last seven Bundesliga games. In fact, the visitors have now scored twice in ten of their last 11 league matches.

Their recent defensive record is not great, though, as the visitors have kept just two clean sheets in their last eight outings.

An inconsistent away record towards the end of last season cost Dortmund the title, as they won just three of their last eight matches on their travels in the German top-flight.

Despite their unconvincing recent away record in the Bundesliga, BVB have still remained potent going forward, scoring at least two goals in four of their last five away league games.

Koln kicked off their return to the German top-flight by suffering a 2-1 defeat at Wolfsburg. The home side will be hoping to avoid the same fate this season that befell them in season 2017/18 when they suffered relegation.

They head into this tough clash on the back of an eight-game winless run in the German top-flight stretching back to last season of course.

Their recent home performances did not help their cause last time out in the Bundesliga, winning just three of their last 17 home games. That poor record does not bode well for a home win.

Forebet predicts that Dortmund will record a comfortable win in a high-scoring encounter.
