AIK head into the Allsvenskan weekend having progressed to the Champions League second qualifying round. Now, the Stockholm club will aim to reel in league leaders Malmo.

Manager Rikard Norling has watched his side win back to back games in the Allsvenskan outscoring opponents 4-0. AIK have collected 11 points from a possible 18.

Saturday’s opponents Helsingborg are 11th in the Allsvenskan table. Like AIK, Helsingborg are undefeated in five of their last six matches. However, they have only posted two wins during that timeframe with nine points taken from 18 possible.

The two Swedish rivals have split the last six matches three wins apiece. They have also scored 11 goals apiece.

Their previous meeting this season saw AIK win 3-1 away. Tarik Elyounoussi’s brace was enough for the Stockholm club to get the win.

AIK and Helsingborg matches tend to see goals. The two sides have combined for over 2.5 goals in their last 11 matches in all competitions. Their last six matches in all competitions have seen both teams score.

Norling’s side has been brilliant at home defensively. AIK have kept five clean sheets in their last seven Allsvenskan home matches.

The Gagnet could keep Helsingborg out of goal for the first time in 11 tries. Helsingborg have scored the fourth fewest goals in the Allsvenskan with just 15. AIK’s defence is the best in the league having conceded just 11 times and posting a +9-goal difference.

Elynounoussi leads AIK in goals with nine. He has tallied 45% of the Gagnet’s goals this term. The forward is in a scoring drought as he hasn’t found the back of the net in his last five league games.

AIK have lost at home just one time this term while posting six wins and two draws. It is the second-best home form of any team in the Allsvenskan outside of Malmo.

Meanwhile, Helsingborg’s away record has been diabolical. The club has taken just five points from 21 possible on their travels. Their last three road games have been an improvement, however, as Helsingborg are three away matches unbeaten.

Although Helsingborg have improved their road form, AIK are playing too well currently. The Gagnet will record a third straight win in the league and keep pace with Malmo as the season progresses.

The teams’ run of 11 matches with over 2.5 goals will come to an end as AIK’s defence shuts out Helsingborg.
