Can Uganda upset Senegal?

Uganda take on Senegal in the second round of 16 match at the Africa Cup of Nations 2019.
Both teams finished second in their respective groups and will face each other in Cairo on Friday.
Uganda are one of the surprise packages in this year’s knock out stage after they registered four points from their three group matches.
They opened their account with an impressive 2-0 win against DR Congo before picking up a draw with Zimbabwe.
They lost their final group game to hosts and tournament favorites Egypt however the loss did not affect their chances of qualification.
Uganda come into this match as underdogs but will be full of confidence following their promising performances so far at the tournament.
Senegal claimed six points from their group matches. They also began with a 2-0 victory; seeing off Tanzania in their opening game.
They were then beaten by Algeria before thrashing Kenya 3-0 to secure their place in the last 16.
After missing the opening match of the tournament through suspension, Liverpool striker Sadio Mane scored twice in the win over Kenya and will be looking to add to his tally against Uganda.
Senegal finished the group stage with a healthy +4 goal difference after scoring 5 and conceding just once.
On the other hand, Uganda scored three and conceded three and finished the group with a goal difference of 0.
Uganda’s best ever AFCON finish was way back in 1978 when they finished as runners up to Ghana.
Despite Senegal’s strong squads over the years, they too have only ever managed to finish second. Their only final appearance came in 2002.
This year, they once again have some world-class players in their ranks. Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli), Idrissa Gueye (Everton) and Keita Balde (Inter Milan) are just a few of the names that feature in a classy set-up.
Senegal have also been in great form recently. They have recorded eight wins in their last nine matches whilst keeping seven clean sheets in the process.
Senegal are yet to lose to Uganda after five meetings between the two sides. They have claimed two victories, with the other three matches ending in a draw.
It would be a remarkable achievement if Uganda were to register their first ever win over Senegal on Friday.
