All eyes turn to Stadio Giuseppe Meazza as Inter look to protect their unbeaten Serie A start under Cristian Chivu. Parma arrive with renewed belief after their first league win of the season, but Carlos Cuesta’s side still face a major test against the reigning champions.
Inter enter the clash riding a wave of consistent performances. In their last six matches across all competitions, they have recorded four victories, one draw, and just a single defeat. Offensive output stands out at 2.67 goals per game, while conceding 1.67 keeps matches lively.
At home, Inter have already beaten Monza 4-1, Napoli 3-2 and Udinese 5-3 in Serie A this season. Their first three home league games produced 12 Inter goals, a clear sign that Chivu’s 3-5-2 is still carrying major attacking threat even when matches become open.
For Parma, the recent picture is more uneven but no longer winless. They lost to Cagliari and Juventus, drew with Monza, were beaten 2-1 at Como and then responded with a 2-1 home win over Genoa. Romero has scored in two straight league matches, while Pontus Almqvist’s winner against Genoa gives Cuesta another attacking option.
Looking at recent contests in Milan, Inter have enjoyed the bulk of success against Parma but with a note of caution. The Nerazzurri won the last two league meetings at San Siro, yet Parma have often been capable of digging in and frustrating their hosts on this ground.
Expanding the lens, Inter’s consistency is hard to ignore. They are unbeaten in Serie A this season, have already recovered from difficult positions against Napoli, Udinese and Roma, and remain firmly in the early title picture.
At home, their record is imposing. The league champions continue to create volume from wing-back areas, with Andy Diouf and Federico Dimarco offering width and Alessandro Bastoni stepping out aggressively from the back. Lautaro’s late goals against Napoli and Roma also underlined his importance in tight moments.
Parma, in contrast, are still searching for stability away from the Tardini. Their two away league matches this season ended in defeats to Juventus and Como, and San Siro is a significant step up in difficulty. The Genoa win should help morale, but Cuesta’s side will need a much cleaner defensive display to stay in the contest.
Inter’s trend is clear: they are scoring freely, starting quickly and still carrying enough character to recover when games turn against them. Chivu’s side have scored at least twice in four of their first five league matches, which is the strongest statistical case for another home win.
For Parma, the struggle is to turn spells of promise into sustained control. The 3-4-2-1 gives them numbers behind the ball and pace in transition, but they have conceded in every league match so far and now face one of the division’s deepest attacking groups.
Inter are managed by Cristian Chivu, who faces his former club with a squad strengthened by the likes of Manuel Akanji, Andy Diouf, Curtis Jones, Petar Sučić and John Stones across recent windows. Hakan Çalhanoğlu and Stones missed the Roma match with muscle problems and will be reassessed after the international break, but neither should be described as definitively ruled out for this fixture at this stage.
Inter probable XI: Josep Martínez; Yann Bisseck, Manuel Akanji, Alessandro Bastoni; Andy Diouf, Nicolò Barella, Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Piotr Zielinski, Federico Dimarco; Marcus Thuram, Lautaro Martínez.
Jones, Sučić, Carlos Augusto, Pio Esposito and Bonny are all realistic rotation options, especially with Inter due to host Club Brugge in the Champions League three days later. Even so, Thuram and Lautaro look the leading front two for a league match of this profile.
Parma remain under Carlos Cuesta, with Diego Carlos, Vincent Sierro, Giovanni Fabbian and El Bilal Touré among the important current-season additions around a young core. The latest win over Genoa points to continuity, although Almqvist’s decisive substitute impact strengthens his case for more minutes.
Parma probable XI: Edoardo Corvi; Diego Carlos, Mariano Troilo, Dominik Drobnič; Enrico Delprato, Mandela Keita, Vincent Sierro, Emanuele Valeri; Simone Lontani, El Bilal Touré; Jose David Romero.
Fabbian, Almqvist, Sascha Britschgi and Nesta Elphege provide alternatives if Cuesta wants more legs late on, but the Genoa lineup is the clearest guide to Parma’s current structure.
With 69% probability, algorithms strongly favor Inter to claim all three points. Their goal-scoring form, home power and unbeaten Serie A start paint a formidable challenge for Parma. Expect Inter to dictate tempo and territory; a 3-0 result could be on the cards, as Parma’s away concerns continue while Inter look to build further momentum at the top of Serie A.
