Goals Expected When West Ham Host Arsenal

West Ham vs Arsenal - 11/30/2024

Goals Expected When West Ham Host Arsenal
    11/30/2024 3492

The previous eight Premier League meetings between West Ham United and Arsenal have produced a total of 30 goals (3.8 goals per game).

On Saturday evening, the Hammers welcome the Gunners to the London Stadium, with the stats and trends pointing towards another eventful encounter.

Can West Ham build on Monday’s victory at Newcastle? Or will Mikel Arteta’s men flex their muscles? Read on to discover what Forebet’s AI algorithm predicts.

Julen Lopetegui’s side clinched an impressive 2-0 win at St. James’ Park last time out, courtesy of goals from Tomas Soucek and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

It was vital that West Ham returned to winning ways against Newcastle, following disappointing results against Nottingham Forest (3-0) and Everton (0-0).

Possessing a record of four wins, three draws and five losses, the Hammers find themselves 14th in the table – seven points shy of fourth-placed Arsenal.

Despite their inconsistent start to the season, West Ham are unbeaten in their last three home league games, defeating Ipswich (4-1) and Manchester United (2-1).

On the flip side, Arsenal head into Saturday’s clash on the back of a 5-1 victory over Sporting in the Champions League, with five different players getting on the scoresheet.

That means the Gunners enter Matchday 13 on the back of successive wins, following a 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest last weekend.

That said, Arteta’s side have only managed to win one of their previous five league games, suffering defeats to Bournemouth (2-0) and Newcastle (1-0) in that time.

It is also worth noting that Arsenal have failed to win any of their last four away league outings, although they managed to take points from Manchester City and Chelsea.

Head-to-head: When the Hammers hosted the Gunners back in February, Arteta’s men thrashed the hosts 6-0, with Bukayo Saka bagging a brace.

To make matters worse for West Ham, they have lost seven of their previous 10 Premier League meetings with Arsenal, conceding over 1.5 goals on eight occasions.

Team news: West Ham welcome back Edson Alvarez from suspension this weekend, but Mohammed Kudus and Niclas Fullkrug remain on the sidelines.

For Arsenal, Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu are long-term injury absentees, while there are question marks over the fitness of key centre-back Gabriel.

Although the Hammers will be buoyed after winning at Newcastle, the Gunners look set to pile more pressure on Lopetegui and his players this weekend.

Forebet predicts that Arsenal will score over 1.5 goals and keep a clean sheet on their way to dispatching West Ham United.
