Dynamo Kiev and Partizan Meet in UCL Qualifying: What Does Forebet’s Algorithm Predict?
    07/22/2024 4006

The second qualifying round for the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League gets underway on Tuesday, with a total of 14 first-leg ties on the menu.

One of the standout clashes sees Dynamo Kiev welcome Partizan Belgrade to Olympiyskiy National Sports Complex.

In this preview, Forebet covers all the key stats and trends ahead of the first leg. Keep reading to discover what our predictive analytics model forecasts.

Dynamo Kiev booked their place in Champions League qualifying by finishing second in the Ukrainian Premier League last season.

After losing only five of their 30 matches, the club from the capital finished just two points behind champions Shakhtar Donetsk.

Dynamo Kiev have played five pre-season friendlies in July, recording two wins, two draws and one loss while keeping three clean sheets.

Following back-to-back victories over Brondby (4-0) and Mamelodi Sundowns (1-0), Dynamo Kiev suffered a defeat to Union Berlin (3-2) last time out.

Partizan Belgrade also finished second in their domestic league last season, losing four of their 30 matches to end up seven points behind arch-rivals Red Star Belgrade.

On Friday, the Serbian side kicked off their new campaign with a 1-0 victory Napredak, courtesy of a 93rd-minute winner from Brazilian forward Saldanha.

It is worth noting that Partizan failed to win any of their four pre-season friendlies in normal time, recording two draws and two losses.

Partizan last qualified for the Champions League back in 2010-11, defeating Anderlecht in the play-offs before losing all six group games to suffer an early exit.

Head-to-head: Dynamo Kiev and Partizan Belgrade last faced each other during the 2017-18 edition of the UEFA Europa League.

The Ukrainian outfit won both meetings, securing a 3-2 victory in Belgrade before crushing Partizan 4-1 in the reverse fixture on home soil.

Team news: Dynamo Kiev are currently without injured defender Anton Bol, so new signing Brayan Ceballos is expected to feature in the hosts’ backline.

Partizan Belgrade’s only injury absentee is backup goalkeeper Vanja Radulaski, so manager Aleksandar Stanojevic will likely field a similar starting XI to the one that beat Napredak.

While Dynamo Kiev’s pre-season preparations were impressive, Partizan struggled to establish a rhythm in the lead-up to the new campaign.

Forebet predicts that Dynamo Kiev will notch a healthy first-leg advantage on home soil, scoring over 2.5 goals while keeping a clean sheet.
