Bohemians should record easy win over UCD
1456

There’s just the one fixture in the Irish Premier Division on Thursday evening but one that could have a bearing on possible relegation prospects for hosts, UCD, who find themselves bottom of the division and now a significant 13 points adrift of safety ahead of Thursday’s clash against Bohemians.

UCD have managed to pick up just one win throughout the whole of this season’s Irish Premier Division campaign in what has been a woeful season for the hosts.

And although they hold supposed home advantage at their UCD Bowl for this encounter, even their sole success this term was achieved away from home with a narrow 1-0 win at Finn Harps.

The bigger picture paints a desolate and bleak outlook for the students as UCD have registered just one win out of their last 33 league matches overall which is an extremely poor record and one that looks unlikely to change for the better anytime soon.

UCD have also failed to win any of their last 15 home games and the hosts will be without leading goalscorer, Colm Whelan (4 goals) who is unavailable for this fixture.

Bohemians occupy 6th place in the Irish Premier Division standings and the gap between themselves and 3rd placed Derry City is now a daunting 14-point difference which has not been helped by recent back to back defeats in the domestic top flight.

Bohemians have recently slipped to losses against Shamrock Rovers and Derry City in 1-0 and 3-2 reverses.

This meant that the visitors have been unable to make any headway in terms of reducing this large deficit between themselves and the top three pack.

Despite losing their last three away games on the trot though, Bohemians will fancy their chances of returning to winning ways here at the UCD Bowl on Thursday evening, especially as the visitors have lost on just four occasions within their last 15 outings on the road.

Bohs have also picked up wins on their travels at Lonfgord Town, Sligo Rovers and Shelbourne within this period and the visitors have won six of the previous eight meetings against UCD, so this may bode well for Bohemians here.

With forward Ogedi-Uzokwe (4 goals) leading the line and supported by goalscoring midfielders Devoy (7 goals) and Omochere (5 goals), Bohemians look to have too much firepower for UCD in this one.
