Free-scoring Fulham set for routine win over Blackpool
2740

Fulham will be looking to take another step towards securing promotion from the Championship when they welcome Blackpool to Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon.

Marco Silva’s side are sitting pretty at the top of the Championship table – five points clear of second-place Blackburn Rovers with a game in hand.

Meanwhile, Blackpool find themselves thirteenth in the standings – 21 points worse off than the Cottagers.

Fulham have lost just four of their 27 league matches this season, picking up 17 wins and six draws along the way.

They are the top scorers in England’s second tier by a considerable margin, too, having netted a whopping 73 goals. That means they’re averaging 2.7 goals per game.

Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has been the star of the show, bagging 27 goals and seven assists in the 25 Championship appearances this term.

In terms of form, Fulham head into Saturday’s clash on a four-match winning streak. Following massive wins over Reading (7-0), Bristol City (6-2) and Birmingham (6-2), they beat Stoke 3-2 last time out.

When you look at the bigger picture, the Cottagers have lost just one of their previous 16 Championship clashes. Needless to say, that is promotion form.

As for Blackpool, they have only managed to win ten of their 27 league games this season – recording six draws and 11 losses in the process.

Having registered three wins and five losses across their last eight matches, it’s safe to say they are enduring an inconsistent campaign.

It is worth noting that only five teams have drawn less Championship games than Neil Critchley’s side this season.

With just three wins coming in their past 12 league encounters, Blackpool look set to struggle on Saturday.

Head-to-head: Believe it or not, Blackpool beat Fulham 1-0 in the reverse fixture at Bloomfield Road back in September.

It is worth noting, however, that Blackpool have only managed to win one of their previous nine meetings with Fulham across all competitions.

Team news: With Jean Michael Seri, Bobby Reid and Antonee Robinson away on international duty, Fulham will not be at full strength this weekend.

As for Blackpool, they will travel to the capital without the injured trio of Grant Ward, Shayne Lavery and Chris Maxwell.

Given the manner with which Fulham have blown their opponents away recently, Blackpool will be fearing the worst.

Forebet predicts that Fulham to register another high-scoring win this weekend, netting over 2.5 goals on their way to victory.
