Inter Milan will be looking to maintain their lead at the Serie A summit when they travel to Bergamo to face Atalanta on Sunday night.

The defending champions sit one point clear of the second place AC Milan, boasting a game in hand over many of their title rivals.

Meanwhile, Atalanta find themselves fourth – three points ahead of fifth-place Juventus and eight points behind Inter.

Atalanta have lost just one of their last 13 Serie A games, picking up nine wins and three draws along the way.

They have also won seven of their previous nine, scoring over 2.5 goals on four occasions during that period.

Atalanta crushed Udinese 6-2 in their most recent Serie A clash, with Colombian forward Luis Muriel bagging a brace.

When you look at the bigger picture, Atalanta have lost just six of their previous 49 Serie A encounters – enjoying huge success on home soil.

Having scored at least one goal in each of their last eight home games in Serie A, Atalanta will fancy their chances of upsetting Inter on Sunday.

As for Inter, they have only lost one of their 20 league matches this season – picking up 15 wins and four draws in the process.

They are the top scorers in Serie A, too, having netted 51 goals. That means they’re averaging 2.5 goals per game.

The reigning champs head into Sunday’s clash on an eight-game winning streak in Serie A and have avoided defeat in each of their previous 12 league matches.

On Wednesday, Inter beat Juventus 2-1 in the Supercoppa Italiana, with Alexis Sanchez scoring the winner in the 121st minute.

Head-to-head: Inter are currently enjoying a six-game unbeaten streak against Atalanta, having picked up two wins and four draws since their last loss in this fixture.

It is worth pointing out that four of the previous five meetings between Atalanta and Inter have produced over 1.5 goals.

Team news: Atalanta are currently without the injured quintet of Robin Gosens, Duvan Zapata, Roberto Piccola, Ruslan Malinovskyi and Josip Ilicic.

Inter have no fresh injury concerns, although Lautaro Martinez is one yellow card away from receiving a suspension.

There is no denying that Atalanta are capable of beating the top teams in Serie A. That said, Inter have won each of their last eight league games and look unbeatable right now.

For that reason, Forebet predicts that Inter will score over 1.5 goals on their way to seeing off Atalanta.
