Second Meets Bottom on the Final Day Where Milan Aims to Smash Salernitana
1761

The final gameweek of the Serie A season is here with very little to play for across the Italian top flight as the relegated Salernitana head to AC Milan on Saturday night where Forebet has all the trends and data for the season.

The analysis for most of the Serie A season has looked at the competitive race for the Champions League. However, the fifth Champions League place has now been awarded to a Serie A side with Atalanta sitting there right now.

But, as they defeated Bayer Leverkusen this week in the Europa League final, they now have Champions League football even if they finish sixth.

Roma will then need to get into fifth to get Champions League football, but Atalanta have two games left to play and a three-point gap, so this seems unlikely.

This means Bologna, Juventus and Milan all have Champions League secured too, with Stefano Pioli's men sitting six points clear of Bologna in second.

It has, however, been a topsy-turvy run recently for Milan, as they lost 3-2 to Torino last time out in Turin, as Ismael Bennacer scored from the penalty spot.

The club did smash Cagliari before this with Bennacer scoring again, as Christian Pulisic capped off a solid debut season with a brace, alongside a goal each from Rafael Leao and Tijjani Reijnders.

Elsewhere in the past month, Pioli's side have managed to draw 3-3 with Genoa and also clash in a 0-0 game with Juventus in Turin.

Nevertheless, it’s been a relatively decent season for Milan in Serie A, and although they are likely to finish 19 points behind rivals Inter Milan, Inter has, in reality, just been that good.

As for Salernitana, they have been guaranteed to finish bottom of the Serie A table for a number of weeks already, as they come into this game with a gap of 13 points on Sassuolo.

This has seen Salernitana score just 29 goals from the 37 matches all season long, and with only two wins on the board, only Sheffield United from the Premier League have the same amount of points (16) as them across a 38-game season. On the other hand, even Sheffield United won one more league game with three.

They did, however, get a 2-2 draw at home to Milan in the reverse fixture, as Fikayo Tomori and Luka Jovic scored alongside a finish each for Antonio Candreva and Federico Fazio.

Forebet now predicts a win for Milan and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
