Can Arsenal Bounce Back From Champions League Exit With Positive Result Against Wolves?
3139

The Premier League title race looks set to take another twist this weekend, with one of the main contenders visiting Molineux on Saturday evening.

Trailing leaders Manchester City by two points, second-placed Arsenal will be hoping to avoid another slip-up when they take on Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Can the Gunners put their midweek failure behind them? Or will Wolves pile more pressure on Mikel Arteta and his players? Read on to find out what Forebet’s AI algorithm predicts.

Wolves came from behind to rescue a 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest last weekend, despite facing a barrage of 18 shots at the City Ground.

That result extended the Wanderers’ winless run to four matches, with two draws and two defeats coming since their last victory in the Premier League.

Consequently, Gary O’Neil’s side find themselves 11th in the table, having recorded 12 wins, seven draws and 13 losses this season.

Wolves have enjoyed plenty of success at Molineux, though, winning six of their last 10 Premier League home games while scoring 16 goals.

As for Arsenal, they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich on Wednesday, enduring elimination from the quarter-finals due to a 3-2 aggregate loss.

The Gunners head into Saturday’s showdown on a two-game losing streak, having suffered a 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa in the Premier League last weekend.

Since the turn of the year, however, Arteta’s side have won 10 of their 12 league matches, scoring over 2.5 goals in seven of those victories.

It is also worth noting that Arsenal have remained consistent on the road in 2024, winning five and drawing one of their six away league outings while scoring 22 goals.

Head-to-head: Arsenal have won each of their last five Premier League meetings with Wolverhampton Wanderers, scoring 12 goals in the process.

Given that 14 of the previous 15 meetings between Wolves and Arsenal have produced over 1.5 goals, we will likely see multiple goals at Molineux this weekend.

Team news: Wolves are currently without Pedro Neto, Craig Dawson and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde due to injury, while Rayan Ait-Nouri and Nelson Semedo are doubts.

On the flip side, Arsenal have reported no fresh injury problems ahead of Saturday’s clash, although long-term absentee Jurrien Timbers remains on the sidelines.

Wolves will be eager to end their four-match winless run, but Arsenal’s title ambitions should see the visitors up their game on Saturday.

Forebet’s predictive analytics model expects Arsenal to score over 1.5 goals and keep a clean sheet on their way to defeating Wolverhampton Wanderers.
