Saturday’s Round-Up

Watford and Tottenham kicked off the weekend’s action at Vicarage Road but neither side was able to find a winner. Troy Deeney missed a penalty late on, before Ignacio Pussetto made a goal-line clearance on his debut for the Hornets.

Jack Grealish rescued a point for Aston Villa after Leandro Trossard put Brighton ahead in the first half. Villa remain in the bottom three, while Graham Potter’s side are fifteenth – three points clear of the relegation zone.

A 90th minute own goal saw Manchester City and Crystal Palace share the points at the Etihad. Cenk Tosun put the Eagles ahead, but Sergio Aguero bagged a late brace to swing the game in City’s favour. However, Roy Hodgson’s side snatched a draw after Fernandinho turned the ball into his own net after some great work from Wilfried Zaha.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored his fourth goal in five top-flight games to seal a draw for Everton at the London Stadium. Issa Diop headed West Ham into the lead on 40 minutes, but Calvert-Lewin equalised four minutes later.

Arsenal registered their eleventh draw of the season as they failed to hold onto their lead against a determined Sheffield United. Gabriel Martinelli scored just before half time for the Gunners. But John Fleck levelled on 83 minutes to keep the Blades four points clear of Arsenal.

Teemu Pukki’s penalty was enough to ensure Norwich got the better of Bournemouth in the battle at the bottom. Steve Cook was sent off for a deliberate handball, while Ben Godfrey also saw red following a VAR review. The Canaries are now three points behind the Cherries.

Wolves came from two goals down to stun Southampton at St. Mary’s. Goals from Jan Bednarek and Shane Long gave Saints a comfortable lead at half time. Pedro Neto pulled one back for the visitors on 53 minutes, before Raul Jimenez netted twice to complete the comeback.

Isaac Hayden scored a dramatic late winner to hand Newcastle all three points against Chelsea. The Blues registered 70% of the possession as well as notching up 19 shots, but Hayden converted Allan Saint-Maximin's brilliant cross on 94 minutes to steal the win for Steve Bruce’s side.

Super Sunday

Harvey Barnes put Leicester in front at Turf Moor with an excellent solo effort, but Burnley rallied in the second half to come from behind and claim the win. Chris Wood scored against his former club to level the score and Ashley Westwood scored the winner. Nick Pope saved a Jamie Vardy penalty in between the Burnley goals.

Liverpool made it 22 games unbeaten this season as they brushed aside Manchester United in the final tie of the weekend. Virgil van Dijk headed home Trent Alexander-Arnold's corner to open the scoring on 14 minutes. Roberto Firmino had a goal ruled out by VAR, but Mohamed Salah scored in added time to cap off another comprehensive display from the Reds.
