Saturday’s Round-up

Brighton and Bournemouth kicked off the weekend’s action at the Amex Stadium. Alireza Jahanbakhsh opened the scoring after just three minutes with his first-ever Premier League goal, before Aaron Mooy capped off a dominant display by the Seagulls to seal the win.

Danny Ings scored again as Southampton were held to a draw by Crystal Palace at St. Mary’s. James Tomkins put the Eagles ahead just after half-time, but Ings’ twelfth league goal of the season failed to spark a full comeback for the home side.

Carlo Ancelotti extended his 100% record as Everton boss with an impressive away victory at Newcastle. Fabian Schar scored for the Magpies, but Dominic Calvert-Lewin's brace handed the Toffees another important three points.

Troy Deeney scored twice and Ismaila Sarr also got on the scoresheet as Watford convincingly overcame Aston Villa at Vicarage Road. Adrian Mariappa was sent off for the hosts in the second half, but Nigel Pearson’s men remained dominant throughout.

Tottenham twice came from behind to draw with Norwich at Carrow Road. Mario Vrancic put the Canries ahead, before Christian Eriksen’s free-kick levelled the score on 55 minutes. A Serge Aurier own-goal then put the home side ahead again, but Harry Kane’s late penalty rescued a point for the visitors.

Manuel Pellegrini’s last game in charge of West Ham ended in defeat as Leicester returned to winnings ways. Pablo Fornals scored his first league goal for the Hammers, but Kelechi Iheanacho and Demarai Gray both netted to seal the win for the Foxes.

Manchester United are now just four points off the Champions League places after claiming a routine win against Burnley. Anthony Martial put Man Utd ahead just before half-time, while Marcus Rashford added a second deep into second-half injury-time.

Super Sunday

Chelsea snatched a dramatic late win at the Emirates to ensure Mikel Arteta’s first home game as Arsenal manager ended in defeat. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gave the Gunners the lead on 13 minutes, but late goals from Jorginho and Tammy Abraham turned the game around for the Blues.

Sadio Mane scored the only goal of the games as Liverpool survived a scare to eventually overcame a spirited Wolves side. The visitors had a goal ruled out by VAR for a marginal offside call, while both teams registered 10 shots.

Sheff Utd also had a goal ruled out at the Etihad Stadium. Lys Mousset thought he’d put his team ahead, but VAR ruled that the Blades’ forward had strayed offside. Second-half strikes from Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne secured the points for Pep Guardiola’s side.
