Saturday’s Round-Up

A stunning Mohamed Salah double saw Liverpool overcome Watford in Saturday’s early kick-off at Anfield. The visitors had a number of decent chances, but the Reds ultimately cruised to a comfortable victory.

Bournemouth ended a run of five consecutive league defeats by claiming a vital away win at Stamford Bridge. Dan Gosling’s clever improvised effort was enough to hand the Cherries the win, while Chelsea four have now lost four of their last five.

John Fleck bagged a brace as Sheffield United dominated Aston Villa. Chris Wilder’s men dominated the encounter between the two newly promoted sides – leaving Villa just outside the relegation zone.

Leicester’s winning streak ended as the Foxes could only manage a draw with Norwich. Teem Pukki put the Canaries ahead on 26 minutes, before Tim Krul guided a Jamie Vardy header into his own net moments later.

Chris Wood scored the only goal of the game at Turf Moor. Newcastle failed to record three wins on the bounce, while Burnley ended a run of three straight defeats – moving to within a point of Newcastle in the table.

Sebastien Haller helped to ease the pressure on Hammers manager Manuel Pellegrini. The Frenchman’s strike was the difference against Southampton, while the south coast side remain in the bottom three.

Super Sunday

Everton will be happy to come away from Old Trafford with a point after they survived a late onslaught to draw with Manchester United. A Victor Lindelof own goal put the Toffees ahead in the first half, before substitute Masson Greenwood levelled on 77 minutes.

Jan Vertonghen’s 91st minute winner gifted Tottenham all three points at Molineux. Adama Traore thought he’d sealed a draw for Wolves as he cancelled out Lucas Moura’s earlier goal. Spurs are up to fifth after four wins in five.

Manchester City brushed aside Arsenal at the Emirates. Kevin De Bruyne netted two brilliant goals, while Raheem Sterling also got on the scoresheet. The Gunners have some serious work to do.

Monday Night Football

Brighton dominated a large portion of their game against Crystal Palace. Neal Maupay gave the Seagulls a deserved lead on 54 minutes, but a powerful Wilfried Zaha strike rescued a point for the home side.
