Leicester equaled the record for the biggest ever Premier League victory as they hammered Southampton 9-0 at St. Mary’s. Ayoze Perez and Jamie Vardy both netted hat-tricks, while there were also goals for Ben Chilwell, Youri Tielemans and James Middison. Ryan Bertrand was sent off for the Saints after just 12 minutes.

Saturday’s Round-up

In Saturday’s early kick-off, second-half goals from Raheem Sterling, David Silva and Ilkay Gundogan gave Man City a comfortable victory over Aston Villa. However, Fernandinho saw red late on to add to Pep Guardiola’s defensive problems.

Watford and Bournemouth played out a goalless stalemate at Vicarage Road. The Cherries registered a total of 15 shots, but Watford eventually held on to claim a point.

Brighton came from 2-1 down to beat Everton at the Amex Stadium. Dominic Calvert-Lewin must have thought he’d won the game for the Toffees on 74 minutes, only for Neal Maupay to score a penalty moments later. A Lucas Digne own goal in added time gifted all three points to the Seagulls.

Lys Mousset’s second goal in as many matches rescued a point for the Blades at West Ham. Robert Snodgrass gave the Hammers the lead just before half-time, but substitute Mousset scored with 20 minutes to go.

Christian Pulisic scored a perfect hat-trick as Chelsea thrashed Burnley 4-2. Late goals from Jay Rodriguez and Dwight McNeil ensured a nervy ending to the game for Frank Lampard’s men, but Chelsea held on to claim an eighth straight victory in all competitions.

Super Sunday

Newcastle and Wolves shared the spoils in Sunday’s early game. Jonny equalized for Wolves following Jamaal Lascelles’ first-half header. Sean Longstaff was sent off for the hosts.

Goals from Luka Milivojevic and Jordan Ayew saw Crystal Palace come from 2-0 down to draw with Arsenal. Sokratis and David Luiz put the gunners two goals ahead inside the first 10 minutes, and the Greek defender also head a goal disallowed late on.

Harry Kane gave Spurs the lead in the first minute of the game at Anfield. However, a spirited Liverpool comeback saw the home team turn the game around. Jordan Henderson and Mohamed Salah sealed the victory for the Reds.

Tim Krul saved two penalties but couldn’t prevent Norwich from losing to Manchester United. Scott McTominay, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial ensured a late Onel Herdandez goal was merely a consolation for the Canaries.
