Friday Night Football

Real Betis drew 1-1 with Eibar at Estadio Benito Villamarin on Friday. Fabian Orellana opened the scoring for the visitors from the penalty spot before Loren Moron secured a point for Betis in the second half. Gonzalo Escalante was sent off for Eibar in added time.

Saturday’s Round-Up

Despite registering 25 shots, Leganes couldn’t avoid defeat against Levante. Roger Marti and Jose Campana put Levante 2-0 up but Martin Braithwaite’s second half goal wasn’t enough to spark a comeback for Leganes.

Real Madrid survived a late scare to eventually overcome Granada. Karim Benzema, Eden Hazard and Luka Modric fired Real into a 3-0 lead before Darwin Machis and Domingos Duarte pulled it back to 3-2. However, James Rodriguez scored late on to seal the victory for Madrid.

Maxi Gomez and Daniel Parejo ensured Valencia picked up back-to-back La Liga wins for the first time this season. Lucas Perez scored for Alaves on 89 minutes, but the hosts held on the claim all three points.

Pau Torres gave Villarreal the lead after 5 minutes against Osasuna. Still, second half goals from Facundo Roncaglia and Ezequiel Avila turned the game around to hand Villarreal their second defeat in 3 league matches.

Super Sunday

Mallorca ended a run of three defeats by beating fellow strugglers Espanyol. Ante Budimir and Salva Sevilla gave the hosts a much-need win as Mallorca move 2 points ahead of Espanyol in the table.

Iago Aspas scored the only goal of the game as Celta Vigo secured a deserved victory over Bilbao. The hosts had 63% possession while recording over twice as many shots as the visitors.

Valladolid held Atletico Madrid to a goalless draw at Estadio Jose Zorrilla. Valladolid missed a penalty while Atletico had a number of chances to win the match.

Getafe came from behind to beat Real Sociedad. Mikel Merino gave Getafe the lead after 5 minutes, but Diego Llorente was sent off early on in the second half. Jaime Mata and Nemanja Maksimovic both scored within in the final 20 minutes of the match to clinch the win for Getafe.

Luis Suarez, Arturo Vidal, Ousmane Dembele and Lionel Messi all scored as Barcelona thrashed Sevilla 4-0 to register a third straight league win. However, Ronald Araujo and Ousmane Demebele were both sent off late on.
