Saturday’s Round-up

A Dean Henderson howler gifted Liverpool all three points at Bramall Lane in Saturday’s early kick-off. Sheffield United battled hard against the European champions but Georginio Wijnaldum’s goal was ultimately the difference between the two teams.

Crystal Palace returned to winning ways by condemning Norwich to consecutive league defeats. A penalty from Luka Milivojevic and a goal in added time from Andros Townsend secured a 2-0 win for the Eagles.

Burnley twice came from behind to draw 2-2 at Villa Park. Goals from Anwar El Ghazi and John McGinn were cancelled out by Jay Rodriguez and Chris Wood.

Bournemouth and West Ham also played out a thrilling 2-2 draw. Andriy Yarmolenko put the Hammers ahead before Joshua King and Callum Wilson gave Bournemouth the lead. Aaaron Cresswell rescued a point for the visitors.

Wolves picked up their first league win of the season and in turn heaped more misery on struggling Watford. Matt Doherty and Daryl Janmaat (OG) got on the scoresheet at Molineux.

Spurs had to play two-thirds of their match against Southampton with 10 men following Serge Aurier’s red card on 30 minutes, but managed to hold on for the win. Tanguy Ndombele and Harry Kane scored either side of a Danny Ings strike for the visitors.

Jorginho and Willian both scored as Chelsea beat Brighton 2-0, meaning the Blues finally picked up their first clean sheet of the campaign.

Goals from Gabriel Jesus and Dominic Calvert-Lewin meant Manchester City and Everton tied going into half-time. However, Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling took the game away from the hosts with goals in the final 20 minutes.

Super Sunday

Leicester hammered Newcastle 5-0 at the King Power Stadium in Sunday’s only Premier League match. Jamie Vardy bagged a brace while there were also goals for Ricardo Pereira, Wilfred Ndidi and Paul Dummett (OG).

Monday Night Football

In Monday’s action, Manchester United and Arsenal shared the points. Scott McTominay scored from outside the area just before half-time but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang drew the Gunners level with a tidy chipped finish.
