Bournemouth made the short trip along the south coast to kick-off Round 6 against Southampton. Nathan Ake and Harry Wilson ensured the Cherries went into the break with a 2-0 lead. James Ward-Prowse pulled one back for the Saints from the penalty spot, but a late defensive mix-up allowed Callum Wilson to round off a 3-1 win for Bournemouth.

Saturday’s Round-Up

Leicester came from behind to beat Tottenham in Saturday’s early fixture. Harry Kane gave Spurs the lead after half an hour, but second-half goals from Ricardo Pereira and James Maddison turned the match around for the Foxes.

Two Chris Woods goals in the space of four first-half minutes earned Burnley a 2-0 win over Norwich while Sheff Utd recorded a remarkable 2-0 victory away at Everton thanks to a Yerry Mina own goal and a Lys Mousset strike ten minutes from time.

Man City were 5-0 up within 18 minutes against Watford and eventually scored 8 as Bernardo Silva netted a hat-trick. David Silva, Sergio Aguero, Riyad Mahrez, Nicolas Otamendi, and Kevin de Bruyne also got on the scoresheet to complete the thrashing.

Newcastle and Brighton ended goalless despite the two teams registering 27 shots between them.

Super Sunday

West Ham pilled more pressure on Man Utd with a comfortable 2-0 home win. Andriy Yarmolenko scored just before half-time and Aaron Cresswell whipped in a stunning free-kick on 84 minutes to give the Hammers a deserved victory.

Diogo Jota scored on 95 minutes to rescue a point for Wolves against Crystal Palace. Leander Dendoncker scored an unfortunate own goal to give Palace the lead, and the visitors had to play the final quarter of an hour with 10 men after Romain Saiss saw red.

Arsenal twice came from behind to eventually beat Aston Villa 3-2. Ainsley Maitland-Niles was sent off in the first half, but goals from Nicolas Pepe, Calum Chambers, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang canceled out strikes from John McGinn and Wesley to rescue the points for the Gunners.

A fantastic Trent Alexander-Arnold free-kick and a header from Roberto Firmino ensured that Liverpool survived a stunning solo goal from N’Golo Kante to pick up a hard-fought win at Stamford Bridge.
