Dybala to Leave Turin?
2569

Paulo Dybala has been at Juventus since 2015, having made a move from Palermo. The Argentine forward joined the Old Lady on a five-year deal for a fee of €32 million, with €8 million in add-ons.

Having endured a disappointing 2018/19 season, Dybala bounced back strongly the following season. During the title winning season, the forward recorded 11 goals and 6 assists plus was named as the winner of the Serie A MVP award.

However, it is fair to say Dybala has not hit the heights expected of the Argentine international following his move to Juventus.

During the summer of 2019, Dybala was strongly linked with a move to Manchester United in the English Premier League and Tottenham Hotspur were also linked with the player.

Dybala ultimately remained in Turin but talk is beginning to resurface regarding a move away from Juventus this summer.

Dybala has been struggling with fitness issues for some time and this has led to a disappointing 2020/21 campaign. He has suffered from multiple physical problems and that has seen him miss plenty of matches throughout the season.

The most recent issue has surrounded a knee injury and it is believed he has sought medical consultation in Barcelona in order to try and solve the problem.

Having featured for Juventus on the 10th of January against Sassuolo in Serie A, Dybala has not been seen in a Juventus shirt since, which is worrying for both the player and club.

Therefore, with his contract due expire in June 2022, Juventus may decide to cash in on the player this summer but who is going to want to make a move for Dybala right now?

Tuttosport claims Juventus would swap ‘La Joya’ with either Isco of Real Madrid or Ousmane Dembele of Barcelona and while that sounds good in principle, are either team going to be willing to allow their player to leave? There may be an opportunity to tempt Isco from Real Madrid but Dembele appears to have a future at Barcelona and they may decide to keep the Frenchman at the Camp Nou.

Paul Pogba has long been linked with a move back to Juventus and it appears as though the World Cup winner has already made a decision regarding his future.

If he is going to make a transfer, it will surely be this summer as his contract is running down and Manchester United will not want to lose the midfielder for nothing.

That could see a swap deal, with Dybala heading to Old Trafford but with Pogba often unavailable due to injury, will Manchester United be willing to take a chance on another player who has been suffering with injury problems?

It seems highly unlikely and if Pogba is to return to Turin, a transfer fee may have to be agreed, meaning Dybala could stay with Juventus.

There is no doubt the fans love Dybala and if he can remain fit for the rest of the current campaign, the forward can have a major impact on Juventus’ season.
