In the last few years, Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho has established himself as one of the hottest young footballers the game has to offer. The England international turned 20 today and for his age, his stats are simply incredible.

The former Manchester City youngster has produced an incredible 33 assists since making his Dortmund debut back in 2017. Only Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi have created more goals for their teammates in that period in the top European leagues.

This season he has scored 15 goals and produced 14 assists, with Dortmund fighting for the Bundesliga. Those numbers are high for most players in a top league, let alone a player who is nowhere yet near his prime.

Another startling stat is that the exciting winger has been involved in 68 goals since his BVB bow. To put that into perspective, at the same age Messi had been involved in 48 goals, while Cristiano Ronaldo 42.

Considering that is a comparison with two of the best players the game has ever seen it is highly impressive.

The move to Dortmund has paid off incredibly well for the youngster. No doubt he would not have played as much first-team football at Manchester City considering the amount of top attacking players at the reigning Premier League champions. Playing regularly has helped his development no end.

His performances have attracted the attention of some of Europe’s big guns. The main interest in signing the winger seems to be coming from the Premier League, where reportedly Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are all interested in his services.

A fee in the region of £100million has been mooted for Sancho.

When the new transfer window opens will depend on the COVID-19 situation. However, when it does open, BVB may have major trouble keeping hold of their talented young attacker.
