Raheem Sterling has become one of the most potent attacking players in world football under the guidance of Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

The England forward enjoyed a remarkable 2018/19 campaign with the Premier League champions, scoring 17 top-flight goals while also registering an impressive 10 league assists.

He has begun this season in similar fashion. Sterling already has 5 goals in 4 Premier League matches, and bagged himself a hat-trick against West Ham United on the opening day.

At just 24 years old, Sterling’s best years are arguably still ahead of him, and he has the potential to get even better.

Can Raheem Sterling continue to improve? Is he a future Premier League Golden Boot winner? Will he become Manchester City’s all-time record goal scorer?

Let’s take a look at Sterling’s progression since his move from Liverpool to Manchester City in 2015.

Sterling made a slow start to life at the Etihad but has since helped City claim back-to-back Premier League titles.

He has been instrumental in the club’s recent success and Guardiola has played a huge role in his transformation.

In the early stages of his career, Sterling looked nervous in front of goal, and despite getting in the right positions, he didn’t pick up half as many goals as he should have.

His finishing has improved drastically over the past couple of years, and Sterling is now one of the most confident finishers in the Premier League.

However, it is not just his finishing that has improved. His overall play has come on leaps and bounds under Guardiola and his decision making has made him one of the league’s most feared forwards.

Sterling has been constantly surrounded by world-class attackers since arriving at Manchester City and this will have undoubtedly played a significant role in his progression.

Mixing with the likes of Sergio Aguero on a daily basis in training is only going to enhance your game.

But can Raheem Sterling continue to improve on his already impressive goal scoring record for Manchester City?

Barring a major injury, Sterling looks set to remain a key figure for Man City for many seasons to come.

He has already shown that he is open to changing his style of play in order to become a better player and there is no reason why he can’t become a consistent 20+ goals per year forward.

As long as City keep winning matches, you can almost guarantee that Sterling will continue to score and create goals.
