Tottenham v Manchester United as it happened

It was an amazing performance by Tottenham last night against a Manchester United team that looked really poor. This time United couldn’t ‘park the bus’ as they conceded in the first minute of the match.

The Spurs created many chances and the final outcome could have been disastrous for Jose Mourinho and his players. The home team were very aggressive and looked sharp all 90 minutes. They must take all credit, but still a lot more were expected by Manchester United.

New signing Sanchez had a quiet night and even with Lukaku, Martial, Lingard and Pogba in the starting eleven the red devils didn’t create enough chances and after the final whistle it was 22 shots for Tottenham and just 6 for United.

However, United responded well after the first goal, but it seemed they were devastated by Jones own goal and there was no way back in the match for them.

The good news for Manchester United is that they can respond quickly as they face Huddersfield on Saturday afternoon at Old Trafford.

As for Tottenham they face a tough couple of weeks as they will have to play against Liverpool, Arsenal and Juventus in that period. However, if they manage to keep last night’s high level of play, surely they can cope with any opponent.
