Hatters to beat the Tangerines
Luton Town host Blackpool at Kenilworth Road on Thursday night in English League Two semi-final second leg, as the home side look to recover from a 3-2 defeat in the first leg.
The home side are looking to achieve promotion having only earned promotion from the National League the season before last. The Hatters finished fourth in League Two after a seven-game unbeaten run at the end of the campaign, recording seven wins in the process including a 1-0 win over Blackpool.
Only the top three and Exeter City scored more goals in the regular season in League Two. The Hatters ability to score goals has contributed to their being over 2.5 goals scored in five of their last six games. The Hatters have also scored two or more goals in their last three home games.
Luton have beaten Blackpool home and a win during the regular season, so the Hatters will be confident of winning this clash, despite that first leg defeat in Lancashire.
Despite turmoil over the club's owners, Blackpool finished seventh in the table and scraped into the play-offs. The Tangerines won three of their last four games to seal a play-off spot.
Gary Bowyer’s side have lost two of their last three away games in the fourth tier. Four of their last five games have been low-scoring, as the visitors have scored just one goal in their last three away games in the league.
Due to the Hatters prolific form that may need to change if the visitors are to make it through to the play-off final. History is on the Hatters side, though, the home side have won six of the last seven meetings in all competitions. The exception was, of course, the first leg.
Forebet predicts that Luton will win this clash and are likely to progress to the final and have the chance of winning a second promotion in three seasons.
