On Wednesday, Jose Mourinho guided Roma to the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League title – adding yet another trophy to his ever-growing collection.

As a result, the self-proclaimed “Special One” is the only manager to have won the Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League. That is a phenomenal achievement!

Having claimed his first trophy almost two decades ago, now feels like the perfect time to look back on Mourinho’s remarkable managerial career.

Mourinho rose to fame in the early 2000s when he guided Porto to Champions League glory in 2003-04. During his two-year stay at Porto, he won six trophies – including two Primeira Liga crowns and the UEFA Cup.

He then moved to Chelsea in 2004, leading the Blues to back-to-back Premier League titles in 2004-05 and 2005-06 before winning the FA Cup in 2006-07. He also won two League Cups in that time.

In 2008, Mourinho swapped Chelsea for Inter Milan. After clinching the scudetto in his first season in Italy, he guided Inter to a famous treble in 2009-10 – securing Serie A, Coppa Italia, and Champions League titles.

Real Madrid came calling in 2010, and Mourinho answered. During his three-year stint at the Bernabeu, he collected one La Liga title, one Copa del Rey crown and one Supercopa de Espana trophy.

The Portuguese returned to Chelsea in 2013 and led the Blues to the 2014-15 Premier League title and the League Cup. However, he teamed up with Premier League rivals Manchester United in 2016.

Despite dealing with a below-par Man Utd squad, Mourinho managed to guide the Red Devils to a Europa League-EFL Cup double in his debut season at Old Trafford.

In 2019, the experienced manager joined his third Premier League club – Tottenham Hotspur. Although he failed to win any silverware with Spurs, he led them to the 2021 League Cup final before getting sacked.

Fast-forward to today – Mourinho has just won his fifth European trophy. The Special One has now collected a whopping 26 trophies as a manager, winning 16 different leagues and competitions in the process.

The 59-year-old has claimed countless individual accolades over the years, too, including FIFA World Coach of the Year, UEFA Manager of the Year, Premier League Manager of the Season and Serie A Coach of the Year.

Sure, Mourinho may be past his prime. But Wednesday’s Conference League triumph further cemented his status as a serial winner.
