Which Team Has the Best Forward Line in Europe?
1846

We are fast approaching the end of the topflight European season and are set for some exciting finishes in some of the competitions. Both the Italian Serie A and English Premier League could go down to the final day and we have the Champions League final to look forward to plus some domestic cup competitions.

Several teams will be hoping to lift silverware and the attacking players will be the key to getting over the line. The question is, which team currently has the best forward line in Europe?

Fans of Liverpool will say they have the best attack of all time and right now, it is hard to disagree. The attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane have set the Premier League and Champions League alight in recent years but now, there are two other players in the mix, who have improved the attacking threat of Liverpool.

The arrival of Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz has taken the Liverpool attack to another level, something you would think not possible given the success of Salah, Firmino, and Mane.

Both Jota and Diaz have settled into the team perfectly and produced goals and assists throughout the 2021/22 season.

It does not matter which three of the five start the match, they can take defences apart. At the time of writing, Salah leads the way with 22 goals and 13 assists in the Premier League alone but all five players have made a significant contribution when called upon and that makes Liverpool’s attack the best forward line in Europe.

Staying in the Premier League and Manchester City can make a claim to having the best forward line in Europe. You only must look at the goals scored by the attacking players in Manchester City’s squad to understand how good they have been this season.

Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling, Phil Foden, and Gabriel Jesus have all hit double figures for goals in all competitions this season. If you add Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva to the mix, who have both played across the forward line this season, it means Manchester City have six players who have it double figures this season.

Next, we come to Paris Saint-Germain and on paper alone, they have the most exciting forwards, with Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.

However, Messi has found it tough to adapt to his new team this season and Neymar has suffered from injury problems. Mbappe on the other hand, has been fantastic, scoring over 30 goals this season.

Real Madrid have arguably the hottest striker in the world right now in Karim Benzema. He has been linking up nicely with Vinicius Junior and Real Madrid also have Rodrygo and Marco Asensio, the latter of which has hit double figures for goals this season. If Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard were fit and on form, Real Madrid would be fearsome in attack.

Bayern Munich, with Robert Lewandowski, Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman, and Thomas Muller have a tremendous group of attacking players but just fell short when it mattered most in the Champions League this season.
