Which Premier League manager will get sacked next?

Which Premier League manager will get sacked next?
    12/02/2021 2527

Believe it or not, six Premier League managers have already lost their job this season. We haven’t even reached Christmas yet, but the managerial merry-go-round is in full swing.

Xisco Munoz was the first managerial causality of the campaign, leaving Watford after just seven games. Three weeks later, Steve Bruce parted ways with Newcastle United.

Four sackings took place in the month of November. Nuno Espirito Santo, Daniel Farke and Dean Smith left Tottenham Hotspur, Norwich City and Aston Villa, respectively, before Manchester United finally fired Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Due to the cut-throat nature of the Premier League, it is surely only a matter of time before another loses their job. But who will be next?

Let’s take a look at the leading contenders.

    • Rafa Benitez is walking on thin ice at Everton

As a former Liverpool manager, Rafa Benitez was never going to win over Everton supporters straight away. Unfortunately, it looks like he may never get the fans on his side.

The Spaniard made an impressive start at Goodison Park, winning four of his first six Premier League games in charge. However, he failed to win any of the next seven – suffering five defeats in the process.

If Benitez doesn’t turn things around sooner or later, he could find himself searching for a new job in the not-too-distant future.

    • Southampton could part ways with Ralph Hasenhuttl

Ralph Hasenhuttl has been at Southampton since 2018. Although the Austrian sets his team up to play a brave and exciting brand of football, the Saints haven’t exactly progressed under his watch.

Southampton have registered finishes of 16th, 11th and 15th under Hasenhuttl, suggesting the 54-year-old has taken the club as far as he can.

The Saints won just three of their opening 13 Premier League matches this season. If they carry on the way they’re going, Hasenhuttl could pay the price.

    • Even Claudio Ranieri is not safe at Watford

To say that Watford change managers like the wind would be an understatement. In fact, Xisco Munoz was the sixth permanent appointment to leave the club since the summer of 2017.

Claudio Ranieri, Leicester City’s Premier League-winning manager, is now at charge at Vicarage Road. But regardless of his pedigree, he will know that no manager is safe at Watford.

    • Sean Dyche could leave Burnley before too long

Sean Dyche is the longest-standing manager in the Premier League. The 50-year-old took over at Turf Moor all the way back in October 2012, meaning he has been at the club for just over nine years.

Since returning to the top flight in 2016, the Clarets have recorded finishes of 16th, 7th, 15th, 10th and 17th. If Burnley flirt with relegation again this term, the hierarchy could decide to sack Dyche.
