    To qualify for Qatar 2022, there are two routes: win your respective group or win a play-off battle. To make it into the UEFA play-offs, teams must finish second in their group. Here we take a look at the teams most likely to make it out of their group in Europe.

    Group A

    Group A is oddly close. Both Serbia and Portugal will be heading leading the way at the end of the group phase, with Serbia on 17 points and Portugal on 16. The two actually play against each other on the final day of the campaign, where the winner may finish top of the group.

    Portugal do have a game in hand, however, and this puts them as the favorites to finish top.

    Group B

    Similarly to Group A, Group B sees two nations fight it out for top spot as Sweden sit top with 15 points while Spain are just behind them on 13 with the two of them actually meeting in the final group game.

    There’s no game in hand here, so it’s a winner takes all for top spot coming up should they both win their other game, and it’s likely Spain will do that.

    Group C

    Italy and Switzerland are tied for points in Group C, and it’s near impossible to overlook the European champions to not finish at the top of the group ahead of the finals next year.

    The two also have a game in hand over third-placed Bulgaria, so both should finish in the top two with Italy at the summit.

    Group D

    France have a game in hand over Ukraine in Group D and they are already separated by three points. France should get to the finals relatively comfortably with this in mind, although they have only won three games from six outings.

    Finland and Bosnia and Herzegovina are also battling it out for second spot.

    Group E

    Belgium have eased to the top of Group E by dropping only two points from six games. They've already qualified and the Czech Republic and Wales are fighting it out for second right now.

    Group F

    Denmark have been excellent in Group F and they have already qualified after winning all eight games and not conceding a single goal. Soctland are the likeliest team to finish second.

    Group G

    Group G sees the Netherlands and Norway as the most likely two to qualify, but the Dutch are top by two points. Norway have Turkey right on their heels, who trail them by two points too, however, it should be the Netherlands that gets through here.

    Group H

    Group H is as close as it could get, with Russia and Croatia scrapping for top spot with the former two points clear at the top. Nevertheless, Croatia have been playing very well and they could well jump to the top of the table with a win over Russia in a few weeks.

    Group I

    England are unbeaten since the Euro 2020 final still and they need just a few more points to make it to Qatar 2022. They should do this and finish top, with Poland ending the campaign in second spot.

    Group J

    Germany have guaranteed top spot for a while now and it's up to Romania, North Macedonia and Armenia to battle it out for second spot and it’s likely Romania will do that.
