Dominic Calvert-Lewin only improving with experience

In the last few seasons, Everton and England forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin has started to establish himself as one of the most dangerous young forwards in the English top-flight.
The 24-year-old scored 13 goals in the Premier League in season 2019/20 but bettered that tally by three last term. That goal tally came from 32 starts in the English top-flight, as the former Sheffield United star missed some league games through injury.
Calvert-Lewin has kicked off the current season by scoring in all three of the Toffees opening fixtures in the English top-flight. However, the forward picked up a knock in the 2-0 win at Brighton in their last outing in the top-flight. The injury ruled him out of England’s latest fixtures.
He has trained in recent days and is expected to feature in the Toffees home game against Burnley on Monday night. Not many will be betting against the striker adding to his goal tally for the season against the Clarets.
Exposure to regular first-team football over the last few seasons has certainly seen Calvert-Lewin develop his game.
Even in his early days on Merseyside, the forward showed major potential. A number of Toffees bosses stuck with the forward, even though he didn’t score lots of goals.
Well, that has changed in the last two seasons. The England international has added goals to his already ample skills, such as a good technical ability, pace and good hold up play.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is likely to improve upon his goalscoring record this season, barring any injury problems.
A goal tally is not the only metric to measure improvement in players. However, for strikers that can be the most important barometer for whether they have enjoyed a successful season.
The Everton forward is certainly showing promising signs. With more experience, he will only get better and who knows where that will take him.
