Barcelona nearly back to their best
Barcelona’s poor run of form has been ended in truly emphatic style, as on Saturday night the Blaugrana recorded a 6-0 victory over ten-man Sporting Gijon at the Nou Camp.
Luis Suarez grabbed four goals with fellow MSN members Lionel Messi and Neymar also scoring a goal apiece. The Catalan giants were rather gifted the win by the officials though, as three of their goals came from the penalty spot, two for Suarez and one for Neymar.
Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez now tops La Liga scoring charts having scored 34 goals in the Spanish top-flight this season and will be hoping that he can win the Pichichi.
However, the fact that some of the goals came from spot-kicks should not take the shine off another commanding win for Luis Enrique’s team. The reigning European champions are still in a battle for the Spanish title, but now seem in confident mood.
They have now scored 14 goals in their last two La Liga games, after going through a relative lean spell in front of goal by their high standards. Enrique’s side are now favourites to retain their La Liga crown, but Atletico and Real Madrid do not seem in any mood to give up the title fight just yet.
Both the teams from the Spanish capital are in good form and continue to pick-up victories and the fight for the title could go right down to the wire.
However, if Barcelona continues in their current form then it will not matter what the two teams from the Spanish capital achieve, as the champions will retain their crown.
