Tottenham keeping their cool in title race

Tottenham keeping their cool in title race

Tottenham went into Monday night’s game at Stoke with huge pressure on their shoulders to deliver a victory that would see them gain ground on Premier League leaders Leicester. Mauricio Pochettino’s side did not disappoint, as the side from north London romped home with a 4-0 win.

The win means that Spurs are five points behind the Foxes with just four games left to play this season. The trip to the Britannia Stadium was regarded as a tough one, as not many teams emerge from the Potteries with such a handsome victory.

However, the manner in which Spurs recorded victory was just typical of the way that the north London club have played for most of the season. Two of the stars of the season so far Harry Kane and Dele Alli scored a brace each to continue their stellar campaign and are a symbol of Tottenham’s fearless style this season.

Kane is now top of the Premier League scoring charts with 24 goals this season and is a rare breed of striker to have hit 20-plus goals in consecutive campaigns in the Premier League. His goals have been the key to Spurs’ success this season, but the influence on the team of young Alli is growing by the game.

Very few teenagers have come into the Premier League and enjoyed so much success in their debut campaign. The former-MK Dons youngster has now scored then times and produced 12 assists this season. He has fired himself into the England squad for 2016, injuries and fitness permitting of course.

It seems just like Leicester, Tottenham’s lack of experience has not hindered their title challenge this season. The north London side look set to fight it out with the Foxes until the very end of the campaign for the Premier League title.
