It’s been 58 years since Tottenham last won the league.
This is a statistic that pains Spurs’ fans but with Mauricio Pochettino as manager, the club has made noticeable progression both on and off the pitch.
Spurs have registered four consecutive top-four finishes in the Premier League so could this finally be the season that they mount a serious title challenge?
Last season
Tottenham finished fourth in the Premier League last season but their most notable achievement was reaching the Champions League final.
Although they eventually lost to Liverpool, the fact that Spurs reached the final shows just how far the club has come under Pochettino.
Despite missing a large portion of last season, Harry Kane still managed to score 20+ goals. Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura also enjoyed outstanding seasons and consistently stepped up with important goals throughout the campaign.
Next season
Spurs will be looking forward to a full season at their new state of the art stadium and training ground.
Having played the majority of their home matches at Wembley last season due to the delayed completion of the new stadium, a settled home should significantly benefit the team this term.
Pochettino’s main aim will be to try and put an end to Manchester City’s dominance of the Premier League. City have won the previous two league titles and Spurs face a monumental task in trying to overcome Pep Guardiola’s side.
There is no denying that Spurs possess a squad jam-packed with world-class players. The key will be keeping all of their star performers fit while maintaining pressure on the league’s front-runners.
After failing to make a single signing last season, Tottenham recently smashed their transfer record by bringing in Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon.
The addition of Ndombele is a huge plus for the squad and the French midfielder’s box-to-box qualities will give the team an exciting new dimension.
Players in
Tanguy Ndombele - €60.00m from Olympique Lyon
Jack Clarke - €11.00m from Leeds United

Vincent Janssen - €6.30m to Monterrey

Fernando Llorente - Released
Jack Clarke - Loan to Leeds United
Predicted league finish
The predicted league finish for Tottenham Hotspur is 3rd. Spurs are likely to claim another top-four finish however it’s hard to envisage anyone finishing above Manchester City and Liverpool come the end of the season.
