There are just two days remaining before Mexico and South Africa kick things off at the FIFA World Cup and at Forebet we continue to prepare our football predictions for the opening matches, as well as for the rest of the tournament! With the Group Stage matches playing out for over two weeks between the 11th and the 28th, they are a major part of the World Cup, so, let's examine Forebet's Group Stage predictions.
We went over our Group Stage predictions for the first four groups yesterday, so, let's go over how the algorithm thinks Groups E, F, G and H will shape out too. Below, we'll analyze the numbers and trends, and we'll try to see exactly who and why the math suggests will reach the Round of 32.
Germany enters the World Cup as the predicted Group E winner. Thanks to their deep tactical structure and midfield playmakers, they are expected to dominate possession in the Group Stage of the World Cup. The young attacking tandem of Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala is expected to dictate tempos, starting with 72% for a 3-0 victory over Curaçao.

The algorithm also projects Ivory Coast to finish second, using a highly physical, duel-heavy defensive model that might prove too much for Curaçao. However, Forebet does expect 40% for Ivory Coast's crucial opening match against Ecuador to end as a 0-0 draw, highlighting how evenly matched the two squads are in physical intensity.
The algorithm's group stage prediction for Ecuador is for them to finish third but still qualify to the Round of 32. Ecuador’s relentless sprint volume and experience playing at high altitude allow them to maintain high pressing rates late into games, which is projected to secure them a dominant victory over Curaçao and safe passage to the knockout rounds. Finally, the algorithm's prediction for Curaçao is, expectedly, for them to finish fourth with zero points, severely outclassed by the physical and technical speed of the group.
Forebet predictions for this group is for the Netherlands to become Group F winners with relative ease, utilizing a highly fluid pressing system that dominates central territory. Despite the projected absence of key winger Jeremie Frimpong, the Dutch defensive spine remains highly secure. Forebet predicts their opening match against Japan as 48% for a 2-0 for the Dutch side.

Japan is expected to finish second in Group F, relying on high tactical cohesion, rapid counter-pressing, and a squad composed entirely of players active in top European leagues. On the other hand, Forebet expects Sweden to finish third and not qualify for the Round of 32, as Japan is likely to collect 6 points in the group.
Sweden's warm-up campaign has revealed massive defensive vulnerabilities, highlighted by heavy losses to Switzerland and Kosovo and a couple of draws with Slovenia. Their opening match against Tunisia is projected as a tight 1-1 draw. Sweden's overall defensive leakage as of late is projected to leave the team with a highly unfavorable goal difference in the Group Stage, resulting in their elimination. For Tunisia, Forebet's Group Stage prediction a fourth place due to a lack of tactical variety in the final third.
The algorithm expects Group G to be won by Belgium, with Rudi Garcia's side employing a high-intensity press and rapid attacking transitions. Belgium's opening encounter with Egypt is predicted as 50% for a tight, low-scoring victory, emphasizing defensive concentration.

Forebet's prediction for Iran is a probably surprising second place behind the Group F winners, with the Iranian side expected to utilize a highly disciplined defensive block and the clinical counter-attacking of Mehdi Taremi. Forebet expects Iran's opening match against New Zealand to be a 2-0 victory, showcasing their ability to choke out matches once they secure a lead.
For Egypt, Forebet predicts the Pharaohs to finish third and qualify as one of the better 3rd-placed sides in the World Cup. The Egyptian tactical model is heavily reliant on the transition speed and clinical finishing of Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush, allowing them to secure crucial points in tight, low-possession matches. This defensive pragmatism will probably keep their goal difference balanced, ensuring qualification. Finally, Forebet expects that New Zealand will finish fourth with just 1 point, unable to match the physical duel rates of Belgium and Iran.
Forebet's group stage prediction here is for Spain to top the group easily, using their signature high-possession positional play to exhaust opponents and limit counter-attacking opportunities. The algorithm expects Uruguay to finish second, employing Marcelo Bielsa’s intense, high-energy pressing system that physically overwhelms slower backlines. Forebet predicts that Uruguay's opening match against Saudi Arabia will be a 2-0 victory.

The algorithm expects Saudi Arabia to finish third and qualify to the Round of 32. Having prepared extensively in high-temperature training environments, the Saudi squad possesses excellent physical conditioning that will allow them to outlast opponents in humid East Coast stadiums, liely securing a crucial positive result against Cape Verde. As for Cape Verde, Forebet expects them to finish fourth without a single point collected, as they are lacking the squad depth to sustain high-intensity defensive shifts over three group matches.
Of these four groups at the World Cup, the only 3rd-place team Forebet expects not to manage to qualify for the Round of 32 is Sweden, as they find themselves up against not only a strong Netherlands side, but also against a strong Japan team that many - including Forebet - expects to be one of the Dark Horses of the tournament.
In the other three groups, however, Forebet's group stage prediction is for Ecuador, Egypt and Saudi Arabia to all make it among the "eight best third teams" and move on to the Round 32, but seem unlikely to progress beyond it and reach the Last 16.
