The 2024/25 season is here across Europe’s top leagues, and after a memorable campaign last time out, Forebet takes a look at the trends, data and mathematics to see if any notable stats or records could be broken this time around.

    Manchester City’s Five-Season Win Streak

After edging past Arsenal for the second season in a row, Manchester City have now won four Premier League titles in a row to gain one trophy lead against their rivals, Manchester United, as the only team to ever win four league titles in a row during the Premier League era.

Should Pep Guardiola’s men triumph once more, they will become the first team to ever win five Premier League titles on the bounce. As per previous seasons, they are the favourites to win again.

    Kane Chases Lewandowski

Although it’s an almighty task to score 41 Bundesliga goals across a 34-game season, Harry Kane came very close last season. The Englishman netted a handful of braces and hat-tricks and ended the Bundesliga season as the top scorer with 36 goals.

This season, with Bayern now led by Vincent Kompany, the German giants will come back with a vengeance after breaking their 11-year stranglehold on the Bundesliga by losing the league title to Bayer Leverkusen.

Manchester United Aiming for FA Cup Record

After beating City in the final last time out, United have now won 13 FA Cups and are just one short of Arsenal’s all-time record of 14.

Mbappe’s Debut Season Could be Special

Kylian Mbappe has joined the European and Spanish champions Real Madrid after his highest-ever goalscoring season where he scored 44 goals from 48 games. The Frenchman will be hunting down Real Madrid’s one-season record that saw Cristiano Ronaldo’s score 46 goals in La Liga.

He is also just nine goals short of the all-time goalscoring record for France, and with plenty of international games to come, Mbappe may also break that record too.

    An Unbeaten Season?

Last season, Bayer Leverkusen became the first team in Bundesliga history to go the entire campaign unbeaten. In fact, it wasn’t until they met with Atalanta in the Europa League final where they actually suffered a loss after also winning the DFB-Pokal.

This season, a few teams may be eyeing up an unbeaten run. Real Madrid have only got better after losing just one league game last season by adding in Mbappe. They would become the first Spanish team to go unbeaten in a league campaign that involves a 38-game calendar.

City will be in there too and be the first since Arsenal in 2003/04, while Inter Milan are clear favourites for another Serie A title and will try and become the first team to go unbeaten in Italy’s top flight since Juventus in 2011/12 under Antonio Conte.
