    Following Arsenal’s 2-2 draw at Liverpool on the weekend, we have an exciting finish to the Premier League season as the Gunners and Manchester City go head-to-head for the title.

    Arsenal are currently 6 points clear at the top of the league but Manchester City have a game hand. Let’s look at the remaining fixtures to see where points will be won and dropped.

    Arsenal will expect to defeat Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers at home, with the latter fixture coming on the final day of the season. The away game at Nottingham Forest and the home fixture against Brighton also present good opportunities to take maximum points. However, 4 of their next 5 fixtures is where Arsenal could have some difficulty.

    They travel to West Ham United for their next match, who were recently embarrassed at home by Newcastle United but bounced back with a good 1-0 win at Fulham. Arsenal have won 6 of the last 7 games against West Ham in the Premier League but only 2 of the last 5 league matches at the London Stadium, which suggests this could be a tricky game.

    Having already lost at home against Manchester City, the reverse fixture could lead to a second defeat against a Manchester City team who have been excellent at home.

    Arsenal lost at home against Chelsea in the Premier League last season but have a good recent record against the Blues, who have had a season to forget. The Gunners must be favourites to win that match but the trip to Newcastle United is going to be tough and could lead to more dropped points.

    Manchester City have what must be considered the easier run-in of the two clubs. The matches against Leicester City, West Ham, and Leeds United at home are all winnable games, in addition to the trip to Fulham. Manchester City have an excellent record against Everton and the trip to Goodison should result in 3 points.

    The home fixture against Chelsea could cause some problems if the Blues perform but Manchester City have won their last 3 meetings in the Premier League and the last 5 games in all competitions.

    The home against Arsenal will set the tone for Manchester City and they will start as favourites to win that match. Beating Arsenal in that game would give Manchester City huge confidence for the remainder of the season but Arsenal’s performance at Liverpool suggests it could be a difficult task. The trips to Brighton and Brentford could be where Manchester City will come unstuck in the title race.

    However, Manchester City have won 7 of the last 8 league meetings with Brighton and 4 of the last 5 matches with Brentford in all competitions. However, Brentford did beat Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium earlier this season and that could be a tough game.

    So, there is the potential for dropped points for Arsenal at West Ham, Newcastle United, and Manchester City. As for Manchester City, the away matches at Brighton and Brentford look the toughest tests ,which suggests Manchester City could be the team to come out on top.
