Group B features two British nations – England and Wales – alongside the USA and Iran. The Three Lions are the favourites to win the group.
However, the Stars and Stripes are expected to shine brightly. We look at all four sides in Group B.
The wait is over.

All eyes will be on England as they aim to continue their impressive run in major tournaments. After reaching the semi-finals at the 2018 World Cup, Gareth Southgate’s side finished as runners-up at last year’s European Championship.
That said, the Three Lions head to Qatar in poor form. Having recorded three draws and three losses in the Nations League earlier this year, Harry Kane and co. will need to up their game if they want to go far.
There is lots of hype surrounding the USA at the moment – and rightfully so. With big-name stars such as Christian Pulisic, Gio Reyna, Sergino Dest and Weston McKennie in their ranks, the Stars and Stripes are not here to make up the numbers.
Gregg Berhalter’s boys won the inaugural CONCACAF Nations League in 2020 before clinching the 2021 Gold Cup trophy. Have they got what it takes to compete with the world’s best in Qatar?
Wales’ first and only World Cup appearance came all the way back in 1958. After more than six decades, the Dragons will return to football’s biggest stage. Can they repeat the heroics that saw them reach the Euro 2016 semi-finals?
It goes without saying that Gareth Bale holds the key to Wales’ success. The ex-Real Madrid forward has scored 40 goals in 108 games for his country and would love nothing more than to add to his tally in Qatar.
Iran have qualified for five World Cups over the years, including each of the last two. But they have never progressed beyond the group stage, winning just two matches along the way.

The dangerous strike force of Mehdi Taremi, Sardar Azmoun and Karim Ansarifard could cause opposition defenses some problems. However, Carlos Queiroz’s men are not expected to spring any major surprises in Qatar.
1. USA
2. England
3. Iran
4. Wales
Forebet predicts that the USA will enjoy a dominant group-stage campaign to win Group B, with England finishing second. Unfortunately for Wales, they look set to finish behind Iran on their return to the World Cup.
